The recent world clamor is to CLOSE DOWN GITMO. The reasoning is that people are being treated badly and abused. Thatb the living conditions are less then adequate for humans. The detainees are mistreated and not allowed due justice.
First these detainees are prisoners of a WAR, that their side started. By being a captured prisoner of war changes ones legal status and the rights that are afforded to them. The Constitution of the United States does not have provisions that state the first 10 or rest of the admendments are to be afforded to ENEMY COMBATANTS. Nor does it say NONCITIZENS IE:ILLEGAL ALIENS have the same rights as the American Citizen.
The Geneva convention was a meeting of leading nations that sat down and decided on a civilized manner (an oximoron if you think about it) to conduct warfare and the treatment of P.O.W.'s. The resulting treaty was signed by these nations. The treaty actually only applies to those signatories of this treaty in reguards to warfare against one another. It technically does not apply to other nations who did not sign it. Therefore these other nations, take the middle eastern/muslim nations for example. Do not honor this treaty in warfare nor in the way they treat prisoners period.
This war with Islamofacist has created "prison camps". Or better worded, politicaly sensitive wording, detainee centers. In these centers are those who did not die on the battle field in service to those who are against the United States. I say this because there are no such things as a prison camp for American or Coalition wounded or captured. They are REALLY TORTURED AND ABUSED WITH THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS AND RIGHTS UNDER THE GENEVA CONVENTION.

A very questionable report has been passed along and backed by the United Nations. In this report interviews with captured ideolog islamofacists who are known to lie and live in a false reality. A prime example of this is the so called monsterouos insult of a cartoon. A religiuon in where if you do not belong you are to be beheaded for transgressions un announceed. Certain socalled abused detainees claim maltreatment and abuse. The fact that these living conditions are better then many of these detainees have ever known. Each cell has its own primitive lavatory and wash basin.(WE CALL IT PRIMATIVE HOWEVER MANY HAVE NEVER HAD INDOOR PLUMBING BEFORE.) The inmates are issued with tan-coloured prison clothing, are provided with a range of toiletries, games such as backgammon and chess - which they play by shouting moves to inmates in neighbouring cells - and a copy of the Koran. Each cell has an arrow pointing in the direction of Mecca to enable them to conduct their daily religious devotions.
They are allowed two hours' exercise a day and to choose their three daily meals from a prison menu that includes ice cream, cookies and peanut butter. A fully staffed and equipped military hospital is available to treat any illness or medical condition, and the detainees have been treated for anything from wounds sustained fighting coalition forces in Afghanistan to cancerous tumours. (CHOOSE THEIR OWN MEALS AND GET BETTER MEDICAL TREATMENT THEN THEY HAVE EVER KNOWN)
The US government has been heavily criticised by the United Nations and human rights groups for insisting on the right to force-feed the hunger strikers. But medical officials at Guantanamo reject the criticism. "We have a duty to treat these people in a humane fashion and to save their lives, and that is what we are doing."

This is the bottom of the whole contraversy. We have prisoners of war yet many who hold an antiAmerican attitude think of them as average run of the mill good guys. A total lack of reasoning and ignorance of facts. Brutal mistreatment of women and children. Denial of what the U.N. claims to be basic human rights. Daily torture of nonislamic faiths. A total kowtowing to pressure applied by ISLAMOFACISTS THUGS.
The rest of the muslim world, the ones without money who support such regimes, should be so lucky to be detained in this type of facility.
