What to do in May?
With schools getting oput for summer vacation, and families trying to figure out the first trip of the summer. The question is ... What shall we do in May?
As it happens May is National Military Appreciation Month. So consider the following daily things to do.
A DOZEN WAYS TO SUPPORT OUR MILITARY!
#1 FLY THE FLAG ON YOUR HOUSE, CAR, or BUSINESS DURING MAY
#2 SEND AN EMAIL OR LETTER OF THANKS THROUGH A Million Thanks
#3 SEND A CARE PACKAGE TO A SOLDIER THROUGH USOCARES
#4 ORGANIZE AN EVENT IN YOUR OWN COMMUNITY, AND AT YOUR WORKPLACE
#5 ASK YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS AT ALL LEVELS TO RECOGNIZE OUR MILITARY
#6 WEAR A SUPPORT OUR TROOPS WRISTBAND OR SHIRT
#7 REGISTER YOUR SUPPORT AT America Supports You!
#8 ASK LIBRARIES, SCHOOLS, ORGANIZATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN RECOGNIZING OUR ARMED FORCES
#9 ASK LOCAL MEDIA (TV, RADIO, NEWSPAPER) TO FEATURE
#10 WHEN YOU SEE A PERSON IN A MILITARY UNIFORM, SHAKE THEIR HAND AND SAY, "THANK YOU FOR SERVING OUR COUNTRY"
#11 RAISE FUNDS FOR MILITARY CHARITIES
#12 HIRE A VETERAN

Ft Lauderdale, FL May 6-7. Fleet Week USA Officially kicks off National Military Appreciation Month.
Langley AFB, VA May 5-7: Air Power Over Hampton Roads
Indiana: Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day for 2006 events planned.
Sacramento, CA May 21: A 15 Day Parade of Patriots Begins
Dallas, TX May 20-21: University of Dallas would like to honor all of those in the UD family who have served.
Colorado ... Royal George park, May 1-31, 2006: Military Appreciation Month, 50% Off Admissions.
Cripple Creek Co KOA: Come help celebrate our Patriotic Bivouac at Cripple Creek, CO KOA from May 15 through May 24, 2006.
There are all sorts of wonderful events happening this month to show support for the Military. Just check with a local V.F.W. or American Legion post. I myself will go to my V.F.W. post 4171 and check on events there.
