Colorado Leads the Way?
In a major thumbing of his nose to not only Colorado voters but to his own party and the State Constitution, Gov Bill Ritter takes Colorado into the forefront in showing the nation how democrats lead.
Nancy Pelosi promised to clean up the culture of corruption in Washington but refuses to look into the real corruption that comes from the left. Taking this as an endorsment, Gov Ritter signs a back room deal to bring unions into a position of major power in Colorado. On November 2nd the Govenors office released a press notice announcing the new state workers partnership program. All politically correct terms for unions.
Colorado a once right to work state, meaning that you as an individual have the right to a job oppertunity is ending fast and furiously. Voters turned down a resolution allowing unions to automaticlly take monthly funds from workers and donateing it to political candidates it deems friendly to unions. Gov. Ritter takes the nod from Mayor Hickenlooper of Denver in stabing Colorado workers in the back while smileing in the face of said workers.
This new partnership allows unions to enter the work place of state employees and organize new unions. Although it is now called a partnership, it still equates to union control and collective bargining.
It is bad enough that state workers have thier hands tied in most cases, but now to have unions controlling the workers priorities. This simply puts more hands into the pockets of the tax payer in the long run.
Pre 2006 election promises for support to unions for thier endorsments and money to aid in funding campaigns is now coming to fluition. With voters being allowed to give thier say, but then end run and ignored. The state of Colorados administration tries to payback donations and political pressure of voters from the unions to thier memebers for supporting thier leftist adgenda.
This type of leadership is a slap in the face of voters. It says once again that voters have no idea as to what is good or what is bad and that big brother will take care of you. You as a voter are ignorant of the way things work.
A prime example is the way Denver won the Democratic national Convention. By cutting out all workers who are not union members to work at the convention. Denver violated the state law of right to work. Bill Ritter whole heartedly supported this move. Then on several occasions set forth to the voters propositions that Colorado voters wisely turned down. These propositions all pro union and anti worker related.
Being supposedly the representation of the working class. The Democrat party proves yet again it is not represenative of the average person in America. That it takes its cues from the left and far left. Not a single person from the pary has spoken out as to the deals cut by unions and the city of Denver, the state of Colorado, and party executives to close shops for the convention.
This should have been a clue a year ago as to how the elected Democrats planned to run Colorado.
Now by executive order the Gov. Bill Ritter, has stuck it to workers yet again. Once Unions get a foot hold in a work place, it does not take long for them to screw things up.
If you think unions are still good for Colorado look back at the UPS strike in the 90's by the workers there. After the teamsters got involved the workers lost. The ending deal was no where near what was offered at first to the workers. (fact!)
The saying goes buyer beware, well now it should be VOTER BEWARE.
