Case Closed

It should be all over, in fact it was settled before it even went to trial. Raul Gacia Gomez MURDERED a Denver Police Officer in cold blood and shot a second officer. It was cold, calculated, premeditated and racially motivatied.

This little ILLEGAL (piece of crap) should never have been in this country in the first place. However do to lax enforcemnet and openly defiante abuse of national law by those of the open boarder crowd aka Mayor Amnesty Hickenlooper. Garcia Gomez was able to commit this crime.

His trial which has been a shame from the get go. Having to negotiate his return to the United States by taking the death penalty off the table and ensureing his safe conduct ... like he deserves this. He showed no compassion in his crime. Is wrapping up as the prosecution ended its turn yesterday. Now the defense , with translators in hand will make the atempt to explain how Raul was targeted and abused for being hispanic. That he had no other choice but to save face and execute the off duty police officers.

Raul (murderer) Garcia Gomez took the stand and admited to not only shooting Officer Young but walking up to his fallen body and shooting two more times. This should be enough to convict this punk and stick a needle in his arm. An ending that would be to goos for him as the gallows need to be built and this degenerate should swing by the neck till he is done kicking.

DENVER - Accused cop killer Raul Gomez-Garcia took the stand in his own defense Wednesday afternoon.

Gomez-Garcia is accused of shooting and killing Det. Donald Young and wounding Det. Jack Bishop at a Denver event hall in May 2005.

The prosecution wrapped up its case against Gomez-Garcia Wednesday afternoon and the defense was only expected to call a few witnesses.

Before he took the stand Gomez-Garcia asked the judge to turn the TV camera in the court room off for his safety, but the judge said no. After thinking about it for around another minute, Gomez-Garcia still decided to testify.

Gomez-Garcia said he shot at the two officers just to scare them because he thought they were both wearing bullet proof vests. Only Bishop was actually wearing a vest.

During his testimony, Gomez-Garcia also reenacted how he says Young forced him to leave the event hall earlier in the evening.

"He pushed me again and he grabbed me by the arm and he pushed me over the railings, the things, i don't know what you would call it," said Gomez-Garcia through a translator.

He also said Young grabbed him by the throat.

Gomez-Garcia also said he kept shooting at the officers after one of them had fallen to the floor. "I go, 'I have not done anything to him so I fire one or two more shots,'" he said.

Gomez-Garcia was only on the stand for around 45 minutes Wednesday afternoon and his attorneys will continue to question him Thursday morning before the prosecution cross-examines him.

Earlier in the afternoon, out of the view of the jury, Judge Larry Naves asked Gomez-Garcia if he was going to testify. Legal experts say this is not unusual.

Through a translator Gomez-Garcia said, "I would like to ask you if I could have a chance to think about it until tomorrow morning. And I will let you know tomorrow if I will testify or not."

Naves replied, "Unfortunately I cannot do that. I think that your attorneys, if they do what they've said before, have two short witnesses. It's 3:15; this case has been pending since December; we started jury selection on August 31st. I don't know that there have been any real surprises in this case."

Naves then gave Gomez-Garcia approximately 90 minutes to decide if he would testify and Gomez-Garcia took the stand around 4:15 p.m.

He is not required to testify by law.

The jury was expected to get the case Thursday, but Gomez-Garcia's testimony could push that timetable back.
