Alot has been said about Sen. Lott and his moronic statement of talk radio runs this country. I have to agree. Talk radio does run this countrey in a way. That is to say. If you want to find out whats going on, whos is trying to pass what b.s. bill. How the Senate and Congress voted.
A bonus to talk radio, or I should say good talk radio, is that you get an informed opinon based on the facts. Not an emmotional response to accusations. This is why talk radio is so powerful.
The support and pressure to pass a socalled fairness doctrine on broadcasting is a form of censorship. This censorship being faught for by the left side of the isle.
This is a political sham. One being spun and sold as fair. When you have the gaul to say that N.P.R. is fair and balanced. That Juan Williams is the conservative voice to base this fairness on, you are drunk or stoned.
Sen. Trent Lott is correct on the right leaning talk radio. The listeners on both sides of the isle and not those who hit the frindge elements listen. Based on thier listening they in most cases check out what they heard and research the situation. Then base thier opinion on the facts. Unlike those who listen to the emmotionally charged, failing Air America.
By haveing the voters informed and armed with knowledge ads to the scams (amnesty, and new taxes) congressional represatives are running scared of being found out. Found out as frauds in wich the vast majority are. The games and bogus legislature being considered.
Talk radio is holding the feet to the fire of elected officials. They don't like it. This why it is very important we support talk radio. It is an outlet for information, viewer driven and supported. A form of free sleach that is not harming anyone except the politicians it exposes.
For Sen. Lott and others to condem talk radio is for them to condem the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
One has to remember that this is a government of the people and for the people. Not a government of politicians for politicians. Let the people speak and keep the open forems known as talk radio.
