Total lack of Respect

For those who earned the TITLE MARINE, the club patch is special. For those who earned thier e-4 and above ranks (thats corporol) it is even more special. Why is this special? Simple. Not everyone can be a MARINE. It is the only title you will ever earn. There is nothing given to you in the Marines. It is simple, you earn it.

When a Marine advances in rank it is do to thier performance and conduct. The Marines have been called old fashioned because of this. Well it makes for the best fighting force in the world. A team effort that in artillery is shoot, move, communicate (12th Marine motto).

The ranks of the noncoms is even more special. They are the backbone of the Corps. Thier uniform, especially the dress blues denotes historical heroism by these ranks. Those ranks are Sgt, and Corporol. On the dress blues you will notice a red stripe going down the trouser leg. This is called the blood stripe. It represents a battle that Marines distingused themselves in. The battle in the halls of Montezuma. A battle that noncoms exemplified thier dicipline and integrity in. (for more info on this read about the Mexican American war, Treaty of Hildago Guadelupe, and Marine Corps History).

I point this all out as a half hearted p.c apology was made by emmy-nominated choreographer Mia Michaels. This sorry excuse came after she went on national television, as a judge from the Fox network show, “So, You Think You Can Dance?”. She wore a dress blue blouse, with corporol chevrons upside down on the sleeves. This is a MAJOR INSULT to all who EARNED this rank and TITLE.

Her excuse, she had "no idea that anyone would be offended by it", she says. She simply thought she was being fashionable by wearing a navy blue military jacket that happened to have a Marine emblem, upside down, on the sleeves. Yeah right, my %$#.

It just so happened that this night the dance routine just happened to be themed antiwar as well. Dance’s other Emmy-nominated choreographer, Wade Robson, presented
10 identical solo dances around an antiwar theme. Set to the music of John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change,” the dancers wore peace symbols and printed slogans.

Is this coincidense? NOPE. It was planned. Was she awear of her insult? Maybe , maybe not. Does it change what she did? NOT IN THE LEAST. DO I accept her apology? Hell no. I am tired of this lame excuse of "I did not know it was insulting. I support the troops but not the war," crap. These anti war zelots insult all military personal any time they can. But oy, God forbid you say something or do something that may offend them. Then you never hear the end of it. How your transgressions are unexcusable.

For those who may respond and claim to be former or present Marines saying oh she is just expressing her opinion. I ask you to think back to 13 weeks on Parris Island or at MCRD SanDiego. Then the ceremony, and tradition of being pinned with the blood stripe by your fellow non coms. How you stood there after wards.

A TITLE EARNED NEVER GIVEN, SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello. I am contacting political bloggers around the country since I am one as well. I hope this email is not an intrusion.

My dad was a military man, so I have a deep respect for it's traditions and rituals.

Anyway, on a less serious note, I would like it very much if you would go to http://www.bloggerschoiceawards.com/blogs/show/21020
and vote for me for best political blog and best overall blog as well, IF AND ONLY IF you feel my blog is of a high quality. I really think I have a legitimate shot at winning. If you are open to spreading the word, that would be cool as well.

Thank you.

P.S. If you are open to doing a link exchange, I get some pretty decent traffic.
