Justice finally in Texas
For those of you who are fiegnt or bleeding of heart. No need to even read further. But for those of us who believe in capitol punishment please read.
After 15 years of waiting, justice will finally come to Jose Medellin. You see 15 years ago this, if you can call him a man. Commited brutal rapes and murder of two teenage girls.
Now what makes this case special is it is the one that President Bush got on the wrong side of. President Bush wanted the case retried on the grounds that this man was not given fair representation. Representation from his government in Mexico.
The truth of the matter is more then this. Mexico is envolved in each and every case that one of its upstanding, only wanting to better them selves citizens are tried in.
If it was not for the fact this man is faceing, and now going to recieve the death penalty no one from Mexico would really be involved. But since it is a captiol offense Mexico is all up in arms over this. The fact that they take their time in notifing the United States when any American is arrested (meaning it can take months for a simple offense under Mexican law before anyone knows an American is arrested).
Jose Medellin has an Aug. 5 execution date. While there are another 50 born in Mexico and condemned for murders in the U.S., the question remains will their victems get justice as well. In March, the U.S. Supreme Court voted against hearing the case of Medellin, saying President Bush overstepped his authority by trying to order Texas to reopen these cases.
One must wonder why President Bush is willing to reopen these cases yet refuses to grant clemancy for two federal employees who were doing their job. Yep the two Boarder patrol officers are still in jail.
Lets just hope that the Supreme Court and Texas will continue serving justice and not a political bias.
