Denver, Convention, Cyanide = Terrorism?

In a very down played investigation. Denver is poopooing the chances that Denver may be hosting more then the DNC convention and its self absorbed delegates.

What is this?
The FBI and local authorities are trying to sort out the mystery of what happened to a man found dead at the Burnsley Hotel in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood with a foreign substance that the coroner's office said might be cyanide.

On Tuesday, the man was identified as Saleman Abdirahman Dirie, a 29-year-old Canadian. Denver police said they believe he had been dead for several days before officers found him Monday morning.

"Because of the suspicious nature of the death and the unidentified substance - it leads to a lot of questions," Special Agent Kathy Wright, an FBI spokeswoman, said Tuesday.

The coroner's office said it completed an autopsy Tuesday, but medical examiners can't determine the manner and cause of death until they have the results of lab tests. Foul play is not suspected.

Denver police released a statement that officials at the coroner's office suspected the presence of cyanide when they received the body. Hazardous materials teams from several jurisdictions, including the FBI, found a jar in the fourth-floor room where the victim was staying that held between a pint and a quart of an unknown substance.

Investigators became concerned that they might be dealing with cyanide because the jar contained labeling that suggested it could be the deadly chemical, fire Lt. Philip Champagne said.

A source familiar with the case said authorities were looking at the possibility that the chemical was sodium cyanide.

The Department of Justice has classified sodium cyanide as a toxic chemical that, when mixed with strong acids, can be used as a chemical weapon.

Members of the 8th Civil Support Team of the Colorado National Guard were at the hotel Tuesday morning to provide support to local emergency responders, Capt. Robert Bell said in an e-mail.

Although the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force was alerted and is helping in the investigation, Wright emphasized that agents do not have information that would lead them to believe that the victim was a "terrorist or has terrorist ties."

Note the name, Saleman Abdirahman Dirie. Then the fact he came from Cananda. This is eyeopening. We know that Canada has active terrorist cells. Waiting instructions/orders/lapses in humanity. His name is definately not that of Canadian background but part of the Canadian push for immigrent settlers.

Now lets throw into the mix, between a pint and a quart of a chemical agent, Cyanide.

Call me sceptical, or color me paronoid on this one. I do not see why a person would have a quantity of this much in their personal possesion.

What is cyanide. Cyanide is defind as a triple-bonded molecule with a negative one charge consisting of one atom of carbon in the +2 oxidation state and one atom of nitrogen in the -3 oxidation state.

What are some of the uses of Cynanide? Cyanide is a unique chemical compound used to manufacture hundreds of everyday goods. Some products that include cyanide are vitamins, jewelry, adhesives, computer electronics, fire retardants, airplane brakes, cosmetics, dyes, nylon, nailpolish remover, paints, pharmaceuticals, Plexiglas, rocket propellant, and table salt. The manufacturing of these productstakes place every day around the world with little knowledge from the general public that cyanide isa critical ingredient in their manufacture. Indeed, without cyanide it would not be possible to manufacture such widely used items as nylon and many vitamins and other medications.

The news reports none of these items found in the hotel room. (another red flag)

Cyanide is a relatively toxic compound but has been safely used for well over a hundred years around the world. Many people have a natural fear of cyanide that arises from a general understanding of its toxicity. As with any chemical, cyanide must be properly and safely handled to avoid harm to people or the environment. The benefit people derive from cyanide and its many products supposedly far outweighs the risk posed to people and the environment. But does the quantity in possesion of
Saleman Abdirahman Dirie, meet this definition? Again between a pint and a quart.

Although cyanide is found naturally ( One example is the Elderberry bush that grows throughout the Western US. Another is Cassava which is a major food source for millions of people in developing countries that naturally contains cyanide. Cassava requires careful harvesting and preparation techniques to avoid possible health effects associated with cyanide ingestion and man made in every day products). I do not see any connection of these uses and the location of, as the News puts it, victem. I also do not see any connection as of yet to gold mining in the Denver area. (Cyanide is used in the moning of gold.)

This leaves again the question as to why this person would be in the capitol hill area. Only a few blocks from the convention site for the DNC with this amount of ( between a pint and a quart) cyanide.

I think that there is more afoot here then the investigators are letting on.

You must be an incredible nutbar.

1.The cyanide they found can be purchased at a local drugstore.

2. The Denver Post report quoted FBI agents saying there is no evidence of terrorist links to the case.

Enlighten me oh so pompus one. Explain the need for a single person to posses this amount of substance.

As for the FBI saying no links to terrorism. They said this about the man in Seattle who entered the Jewish center and opened fire. They said this about the man who drove his jeep through the pit in North Carolina trying to "kill Westerners" (his words) to spread the word of Allah. The FBI has said that the two in Florida with explosives in their vehicale making runs at a known U.S.military base was not terrorist related. All of which have been or are being now prosecuted as terrorist incidents.

Should this story develop into something that is totally innocent I WILL BE HAPPY TO COMMENT ON IT AND SAY I WAS WRONG. However the track record with the feds and incedents tend to go the other way.

Just because I ask the questions as to why this person had this amount of a known poison in an area blocks away from where the dimocrats plan their convention. In a time frame that is close. You call me a nutjob. Well thats your opinion. This blog is my opinion and my thoughts.

Anyone looking at this case with any other conclusion than a high probability of terrorism is naive. Your everyday person does not walk around with about 3 pounds of Cyanide in their pocket. The world is a dangerous place.
