China, Olympics, Pagentry
Kudos , and hats off to the Chineses. The opening ceremonies to the 2008 Olympics was the best I have seen. I have seen them all since 1968.
The lighting of the torch had to be the best to date. What will England have to do to surpass the pagentry and poetic passion that China put into this. The torch bearer running along side the top of the stadium and then lighting the torch. WOW!!!!
The infusion of man power to accomplish all the marvelous effects, and illusions was outstanding. Just the best i have seen.
Despite politics, possible interruptions from Islamic terrorists, and international bickering over Tibet. China stood tall and showed the world people power in raw form.
Over 15,000 participants were involved in the opening ceromony. A feet in its own. The coordination, practice, patients, timeing was just phenominal.
The tear rendering march of the Chinese Olymp[ioc team being lead by the little boy. A big hero in little shoes that are still growing. If you missed the childs story here is a brief synopsis. He was in the earthquake not to long ago. As his school collapsed he got out but returned into the rubble to save two classmates. As twenty of his classmates did perish he was able to save two. When asked why, the NINE year old replied " I' a hall monitor it was my job".
A prime example of the human spirit and fraility we have.
In true Chinese flavor massive fireworks and celebrating. No ill, or cold reception for any of the Countries participating. Spectacular and visually enticeing for one to watch on a big screen HD telly.
