Denver, Cyanide, Case Closed??
The official autopsy is in. Saleman Abdirahman Dirie, 29, a Somali immigrent, now a Canadian citizen dies from Cyanide poisoning. Officially they are calling it a suicide.
Federal officials have say that Dirie, apparently mixed the sodium cyanide with water and drank it. Traces of cyanide were found in a glass next to the man's bed. Thus he killed himself.
A Canadian newspaper, Ottawa Citizen, also reports that Saleman Abdirahman Dirie,
29, had no criminal record.
The glass, found nest to the bed could suggest the man took a large quantity of the powder before his body was found on Monday. Investigators believe this may indicate he knew very little about cyanide since only a small amount is needed to kill a person.
Fire officials confirmed that they found a bottle containing about a pound of the white powder, or between a pint and a quart by volume.
That amount is enough to kill hundreds of people, according to University of Denver professor Andrew Ternay.
Ternay says cyanide is obtainable, though it is not sold at retail stores. Even though many commentors on this story claim you can buy it at the local drug store. Several Internet sites claim to offer sodium cyanide for sale.
Police say they don't suspect foul play and the FBI says there's no apparent connection to terrorism.
So it is offical, death by poisoning. Yet this leaves so many questions unanswered.
1) What was he doing vacationing as claimed in Denver? A simple question and not a threatening one. Why was his choice Denver, so far from Ottowa?
2) It is claimed that he suffered from schizophrenia. So where is the medical documentation or colaboration from medical sources for this claim?
3) His family says he was fine as long as he stayed on meds. Ok so where were his meds? Was he out? Then why wsn't the prescript refilled?
4) How did he come into the possesion of that amount of cyanide. A quantity that could have killed thousands if used properly or improperly?
5) Who had he visited with and what contaqcts had he had before his journey to Denver? Was he involved with a Mausqe, or any other radical frindge groups before he left from Ottowa to Denver? A simple yes or no will suffice.
6) If his family knew he was so unstable, when off his meds, why did they not have someone travel with him?
7) How did he afford a trip to Denver and his hotel room? Where did his money come from. A quick survey in Denver shows that room rates are being jacked up because of the convention inorder to make a killing on the rental of space. (recent home in Cherry Creek rented for $50,000 for a week).
8) Just what was Dirie's back ground? What was his and his family's reasons for leaving Somalia and moving to Canada?
These are only a few questions I have not seen any answers to. So is this a white wash by our government officials to make us feel secure and safe in our humdrum world?
This whole incendet still smells The coincidents of it do not add up to just a schizophrenic commiting suicide. It is possible however, but then what was the statement he was trying to leave behind. Most suicides our for a reason. A clear message left behind. Pressure from work, failed relationships, lack of money, guilt, an nonability to handle daily life. There are reasons with clues left behind to give answers to the suicide. Here none have been brought forth as an explination.
