Safe Haven Denver
The intrigue of the shooting of Det. Young gets more and more interesting.
The phrase "tipping point" was being used more and more today referring to the murder of our police officer and illegal immigration.
The Mayor has yet to respond publicly to allegations he has ignored immigration enforcement here and that he [h]as indeed been hiring illegal aliens in his own 7 restaurants for years. It may be the Mayor is getting ready to circle the wagons. God only knows what paperwork is disappearing from his restaurants' offices.
He employed the killer for at least the previous 10 months. Indeed it's being reported that the killer went to work at the Mayor's restaurant, The Cherry Cricket, after the murder and completed a full shift. His car has now been located 100 miles from the Mexican border in Cali.
It is now being reported that the Cherry Cricket was notified by the Feds that the killer had used a bogus ID to obtain employment. That was more than 30 days ago. They didn't fire him, they didn't call ICE, they did nothing, except keep paying him, knowing full well he was an illegal alien.
Also, the Denver police have acknowledged they had stopped the killer 3 times previously for traffic offenses. He never produced a valid driver[']s license or insurance on any of the 3 occasions. He did at one time show a Mexican driver[']s license. He was let go all three times with only one brief court appearance as "punishment." At no time did any Denver police officer or an[y] Denver judge even bring up the fact that he was an illegal alien, even though it was obvious to all. Apparently in Denver, illegal aliens enjoy different driving privileges than Americans.
For your information, it is being put out by Mayor Hickenlooper supporters that the Mayor turned over control of his restaurants to a "blind trust". This is untrue. The Mayor handpicked three people to act as "proxies" for him. They have his power of attorney and operate his restaurants on a day-to-day basis. The mayor attends quarterly company meetings and still signs company papers.

There are appalling new developments in the cop-killer case in Denver. As reported by the Rocky Mountain News, Det. Donald Young's suspected killer, 19-year-old illegal alien Raul Garcia-Gomez, was employed at a restaurant co-owned by the city's mayor, John Hickenlooper. Garcia-Gomez worked for the Cherry Cricket for 10 months despite a federal notification sent to the business last month that his papers were bogus:
DENVER - 9NEWS has confirmed from two separate agencies that the car of the man suspected of shooting two Denver police officers over the weekend, has been found in Los Angeles.
No details have been released on when the white 1995 Dodge Neon was found and police are still looking for the suspect, 19-year-old Raul Garcia-Gomez.
Garcia-Gomez is a Mexican national, but lived in Los Angeles before moving to Denver about 10 months ago.
An article in Wednesday's Rocky Mountain News says Garcia-Gomez told his girlfriend, 18-year-old Sandra Rivas, he shot the officers. Rivas told the Rocky Garcia-Gomez confessed to her early Sunday morning before kissing her on the forehead, kissing their 3-week-old daughter, packing some clothes and leaving.
But later Wednesday, Rivas' mother Rosalba told 9News that her daughter told her, "Mom, that's not what I said." Rosalba Rivas added, "Why would I let a killer be at the house if I knew he was a killer?"
Denver Police Detectives Donald Young and John Bishop were shot from behind while working off-duty security at a baptism and birthday party at 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
Detective young died from his injuries. Detective Bishop was treated at Denver Health Medical Center and released.
Young leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
The search for Garcia-Gomez now extends beyond Colorado. Denver Police say he has connections to Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Mexico.
Garcia-Gomez is a Mexican National.
The FBI and U.S. Marshals are now working with local authorities to track down the suspect.
Garcia-Gomez is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds with tattoos on his left hand and forearm.
Police searched the house where he had been living on St. Vrain Street Tuesday. Detectives say he lived there with Rivas and her mother. Investigators spoke with Rivas Tuesday.
"He said I'm going to tell you; please forgive me," Rivas told the Rocky Mountain News. "And then he told me he had shot the security officers. And I told him he had to turn himself in."
9NEWS spoke with Rivas' mother, Rosalba Rivas, Tuesday, who said the family attended the party Saturday night at a banquet hall on West Mississippi Avenue.
She told 9 Wants to Know reporter Paula Woodward the family had an invitation. Garcia-Gomez left the party and was not allowed back in, Rosalba Rivas told Woodward.
"I didn't see anything," she said. "I heard that shots that were fired. That was ugly; really ugly."
Garcia-Gomez worked as a dishwasher at the Cherry Cricket bar and restaurant in Cherry Creek. 9News confirmed Wednesday that Garcia-Gomez showed up for work Sunday, just hours after the shooting. The restaurant says he clocked in at 8 a.m. and left shortly after 4 p.m.
Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper is part owner of the restaurant. Hickenlooper placed his share of the restaurant in a blind trust when taking office and has not had any hand in management since being elected mayor.
In March, restaurant managers received a letter from the Social Security Administration noting a discrepancy with Garcia-Gomez's social security card. However, it's still not clear whether the document was falsified or if there was simply a clerical error. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Mexican consulate are now investigating whether Garcia-Gomez was in the country illegally.
There is a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 720-913-STOP.
9News.com will live stream Detective Young's funeral and processional starting at 10:30 a.m. Street Closures for Friday's funeral.Logan will be closed from 14th to 16th starting at 9am. Colfax will be closed from Pearl to Broadway also starting at 9am.
I hate to say this but it seems to me that this punk latino has fled back to Mexico where he came from and will never see justice. With the fact Denver let him go on three seperate occasions knowing he was illegal /as they do for all illegals. He will be in Mexico bragging to his compadres on what a big man he is for the cowardly assasination of a Police Officer in the States.
As well as KNUS 710 NEWSTALK , KHOW is also raising funds for Det. Youngs family. Please donate and pray for a little Sombra Negra for Garcia Gomez (the coward killer)
