As promised here is my research and conclusions into this mythical land called Aztlan. Much like the stories of an ancient land of science, technology and utopian aspects of Atlantis. It never existed in the sense that myth and legend has elevated it to.

In a prieviouse post I asked where is the documentation from the Spainish who explored the Americas. I had never heard or seen it. However looking for these documents I have come across, nothing new to some but to me. The writings of several Jesuit Priests, Francisco Clavijero, and Alfredo Chevero. These two and thier writings can be considered as second or third hand accounts. Now this leads to certain scholors of today. These have to be discredited because of thier political biases. The Universities of Lincoln Nebraska and Utah desperately want a reconquista movement and have skewed their findings into archelogical bunk to achieve this goal.

Back to the jesuit writings. Journel entries describe the tales told by the Aztecs and thier heritage. This is where it all becomes conjecture and misleading. As we know the Aztec people were very mathmatical and did have a form of writing. They documented things. However it is clear that their predecesors did not. This is admited by and supported by Aztec tales and ledgend.

We know for fact that the Aztecs and other native peoples told of great stories of cities of gold that lay to the north. These stories were told as a means to get the spanish to leave in thier pusuit of riches. Several well documented expiditions were sent north to discover fabled cities of gold. What the spanish failed to understand untill it was to late was that their guides were leading them on a wild goose chase into the wilderness. (Cortex, Pizzarro, among a few who had Indian guides that mislead them north and into the plains away from water and food)

Much as in the tales of the seven cites of Gold in El Dorado, which traced back goes to Peru and the Inca's legends. A king covered in gold dust. After years of word of mouth it changed into people of gold who lived to the north. When in actuality it was only a man presumed to be a king who was flamboyent and covered his whole body in gold dust flake. Giving off an appearance of being a golden man. But to the greedy Spanish the key word was gold. So any hint or story of treasures of gold was instantly seized upoon and taken as fact.

Now for actual archeological evidance. Yes there is some , but it supports the theory of the origional Aztlanians as being a very nomadic and agressive people. A people who more then likely began thier exploration from the small western state of Nayarit, long neglected by the federal government, declared itself the "cradle of the Mexicans" in the early 1990s based on an old theory that the marshy island of Mexcaltitan was in fact Aztlan. Aztec legend says little about Aztlan, apart from that it was a small island on a lake inhabited by herons north of Mexico City. If it is ever found, archeologists do not expect to discover much in the way of treasure or ruins there. This does describe the shrimper villages in Nayarit.

Hyrogliphics have been found all over the south west. Many that have similar features. These features can be likened to Mesoamerican hyrogliphics.(Then again lets not forget the theories that Atlantians built not only great pyramids that have sunk below the waves but survivors consulted in building all the pyramids that have ever been discovered from the Americas, South east Asia and all over the world .... possible yes , probable NO.)

Following cronologically these hyrogliphics one can set up a pattern of travel that starts in Nayarit mexico into California, to Utah down south back into Mexico untill you reach Mexico City. Does any of this show a permanate settlement or cities of white? No but it does tell of how a certain people traveled and migrated untill they found a place to call home. (AGAIN MEXICIO CITY).

Some stories that have been handed down and are bandied around try to say that the culture appeared in the Florida Everglades. However no evidance other then Seminole history has been discovered. (SOMETHING THAT IS INTERESTING AND I WANT TO RESEARCH JUST BECAUSE THE SEMINOELS ARE THE ONLY INDIAN TRIBE NEVER TO SURRENDER OR SIGN A PEACE TREATY WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.)

What does all this evidance prove? Well it shows that there was a nomadic (NOMADIC MEANING PEOPLE WHO TRAVEL WITH NO PERMANATE HOME) who traveled from Mexico to california to possibly Florida before heading back south to settle in a permanete home locatd in or very close to Mexico City. What does this mean to the claims of La Raza and the reconquista movement. Well see ing how they as a people did not come into existance untill after the Spanish invasion. In which their culture was started.There are no legal or historical claims to the American South west. Why? Easy for this simple explination. If you move volunterly you discard any claims and rights to what you discardeed away.

Is there an ancient Aztlan nation? Perhaps a people but no cities of gold or lands of white. Were there an Aztlanian people, evidance suggests that YES there was. Some of my family came from Germany and England, does this entitle me to lands and privlages in those countries. NO, just tells of my history. Mush like the La Raza movement, thier history has a part in the Southwest, but no ligitimate claims or rights from the past to the lands.

While researching and corolating this information I had to not only look at where the information came from, but try to piece the information together in a manner that made sense. I also had to go and research those who are writing about this now and where they are coming from not only in thiere research but politically. Why politically you ask? Because this topic has become a basis for a movement that wants to economically and physically change the make up of the American Southwest. Many of these proffesors have a political axe to grind and therefore one should only take what they publish with a grain of salt.
