(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today blasted comments by U.S. Senate Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) for telling reporters today that the war “is lost.”
“After making such a brash comment, the Democratic Leader has a responsibility to introduce legislation to end all funding of the war against terror and force the President to bring the troops home immediately,” Tancredo said. “Because if he truly believes what he says, then every life lost from this day on sits solely on his lap for doing nothing to back up his words.”

Congressman Pushes Gov, House Legis Not to Pass
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today blasted a bill passed by the Colorado Senate which eases the restrictions on acquiring a Colorado driver’s license, making it easier for illegal aliens and would be terrorists to obtain these gateway documents. Tancredo, a former legislator encouraged the state House to not consider passing the legislation, and Governor Bill Ritter (D) not to sign it into law.
“This bill provides a loophole for illegal aliens and would be terrorists attempting to obtain a Colorado driver’s license,” Tancredo said. “I hope the Colorado House and Governor Ritter have the good sense to oppose a measure that could provide terrorists a gateway by way of the Rocky Mountains.”
House Bill 1313 will allow easily forged and unverifiable documents such as a marriage license, affidavits from nonprofit organizations, and foreign documents as proof of citizenship in obtaining a Colorado driver’s license. The bill was passed by the state senate along party-lines 20 (Dem) votes to 15 (GOP) last week.
Tancredo concluded, “This rollback in immigration law proves, once again, the commitment of Colorado Democrats to ‘sanctuary city’ policies. This bill not only allows illegal aliens to take advantage of our state benefits but it will also attract any terrorist needing identification to Colorado.”
