Hillary: Restrict Military Recruiters

Hillary said she wants to make it tougher for recruiters to find out which students might want to serve their country, by denying them access to information like Social Security numbers, ethnicities, birth dates, class schedules and grade point averages.

Along with six other Senate Democrats, Mrs. Clinton has written to Defense Secretary Rumsfeld, saying she is concerned that recruiters may be guilty of racial profiling.

"We fail to see a legitimate need for the creation of a database containing such personal information and are concerned that it may be an inappropriate effort to profile students based on ethnicity and other personal factors," she complained.

Supreme Court Rules Cities May Seize Homes

WASHINGTON -- Cities may bulldoze people's homes to make way for shopping malls or other private development, a divided Supreme Court ruled Thursday, giving local governments broad power to seize private property to generate tax revenue.

In a scathing dissent, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor said the decision bowed to the rich and powerful at the expense of middle-class Americans.

The 5-4 decision means that homeowners will have more limited rights. Still, legal experts said they didn't expect a rush to claim homes.

The four-member liberal bloc typically has favored greater deference to cities, which historically have used the takings power for urban renewal projects.

At least eight states _ Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Montana, South Carolina and Washington _ forbid the use of eminent domain for economic development unless it is to eliminate blight. Other states either expressly allow a taking for private economic purposes or have not spoken clearly to the question.

In dissent, O'Connor criticized the majority for abandoning the conservative principle of individual property rights and handing "disproportionate influence and power" to the well-heeled.

"The specter of condemnation hangs over all property," O'Connor wrote. "Nothing is to prevent the state from replacing any Motel 6 with a Ritz-Carlton, any home with a shopping mall, or any farm with a factory."

Congressman Demands Answers from Hickenlooper About New Spanish Language Emphasis


WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) asked questions about the Denver Public Library’s Spanish language policies in a letter sent to Mayor John Hickenlooper today. The letter asked a dozen questions ranging from the planning of a Spanish-language-only library to the alleged freeze of career advancement for librarians who do not speak Spanish. The questions are based on information from library employees and patrons.

“Denver Public Library’s apparent shift towards a Spanish-language-only library, Spanish language book quotas and coercion of librarians to learn Spanish is of great concern. Several Denver residents who are affiliated with the Denver Public Library have come to me with concerns about changes underway in the Library. I hope their concerns are misplaced, and I hope you can show me they are misplaced.



I will put these concerns in the form of several questions. Each question is based on information from employees and patrons of the library. Unfortunately, these Denver citizens choose to remain anonymous because they fear for their jobs.



My questions are:



Is the Denver Public Library implementing a plan to convert very large sections of several branch libraries – ranging from 10% to 62% of book and periodical holdings -- to Spanish language holdings?
Has the Denver City Council ever debated and approved a plan to convert one or more existing library branches to “Language and Learning Centers” with predominantly Spanish language books, magazines and materials?
Does the proposed new mill levy for a new library district include funds for a new branch library that will be designated a “Language and Learning Center” with Spanish language materials only?
Has the Spanish-language-only concept for branch libraries ever been discussed or evaluated by the Library Commission or the City Council as a factor promoting social fragmentation, cultural balkanization, and ethnic separatism?
What is the basis for believing that current bilingual Latino patrons prefer that current English language materials be converted to Spanish-only holdings?
Since the proposed new library district is coterminous with the City of Denver, what purpose can be served besides a disguised tax increase and diminished accountability to the Mayor and the City Council?
Will the results of the public opinion polls conducted on these issues with public monies by Ciruli Associates be made public?

Have the Focus Groups run by Corona Research been designed and conducted to obtain results that support the conversion plan? Have the unvarnished results of the Focus Groups (not sanitized summaries) ever been shared with the Library Commission and the public?
Has the library’s management announced that only library employees bilingual in Spanish – not Vietnamese, German, Korean or other languages ¾ will be eligible for raises? If so, is this not contrary to civil service rules and blatantly discriminatory on its face?
Is a Mexican Driver’s License now accepted in city libraries as valid ID for use of library facilities and services? Are driver’s licenses from other nations also accepted?
Are English language books being thrown out in the trash to make room for Spanish language materials? Why are books being thrown into the trash instead of being given to schools, non-profit organizations, or saved for the book sales? Has the Library Commission approved this practice?
Is DPL assisting “undocumented” (illegal) aliens in purchasing homes through sponsorship of workshops for undocumented aliens in cooperation with the Colorado Housing Assistance Corporation? Does DPL make any distinction between legal and illegal residents in providing its taxpayer-funded services?


Mr. Mayor, I sincerely hope that you can provide answers to these questions that will lay these concerns to rest.

SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (AP) - Michael Jackson's family and fans - and at least one of the jurors who acquitted him of child molestation - gathered Friday night for a huge party that was billed as a celebration of thanks.

The pop star himself, who has not appeared in public since his 14-week trial ended Monday, was nowhere in sight.

Among the approximately 400 people who arrived at the Chumash Indian Casino was juror Pauline Coccoz. When she walked into the casino and heard Jackson's music playing, Coccoz said, the enormity of what had transpired hit her.

"They were playing 'Beat It,' and I almost started to cry," she said as she waited to enter the showroom. She said that earlier in the day, she had received a wristband needed for admission to the party.

Minuteman Flap Leads to Home Search
A Garden Grove officer's $100 flashlight isn't found in the house of a woman who took part in the rowdy protest in May.

A simmering dispute between Garden Grove police and those who protested a local speech by the founder of the Minuteman Project last month intensified Friday over an allegedly stolen $100 flashlight.

With a warrant in hand, Garden Grove police on Thursday searched the Westminster home of Theresa Dang, 24, for a flashlight that authorities say fell from an officer's pocket during the raucous May 25 demonstration in front of the Women's Civic Club of Garden Grove.

Dang was one of the nearly 300 people at the rally, which turned violent after one of the attendees forced his van through the crowd that decided to block the driveway.

The search for the flashlight angered Dang's attorney, who called it political retaliation for Dang's open criticism of police tactics during the demonstration. "It's seems bizarre," said attorney B. Kwaku Duren.

But police Lt. Mike Handfield defended the search, saying it was part of a serious criminal investigation. "We have a video of her taking the flashlight," he said Friday. "We are going to try and do everything we can to recover the flashlight ….The fact is, she took something from a police officer."

Handfield said the Maglite flashlight was the officer's private property. "We issue Maglites, but they are not very high quality," he said, so officers buy better ones on their own.

The rally had been called to protest a speech by John Gilchrist, the Aliso Viejo man who in April led a citizen patrol to the Arizona-Mexico border to look for illegal immigrants.

Five people were arrested at the demonstration. Three have have been charged with misdemeanor and felony charges, including attacking a peace officer. But many of the demonstrators blamed police for exacerbating the situation by indiscriminately chasing nonviolent protesters, a charge denied by the Police Department.

"The problem is that police started getting aggressive even with people who were not [throwing things]," said Duane Roberts, one of the rally organizers.

During a City Council meeting Tuesday, about a dozen protesters — including Roberts and Dang — asked the city to investigate allegations of police abuse. The council turned them down. Mayor William Dalton did not return calls seeking comment.

Two days after the City Council meeting, three police officers served the search warrant at Dang's house, which she shares with her parents and two siblings. The warrant, authorized June 9 by Orange County Superior Court Judge Nho Trong Nguyen, sought a single item: a "black full-sized Maglite with small diameter handle."

One in every 11 people born in Mexico is now living in the United States, according to a a study of immigration trends by the Pew Hispanic Center (search). That's 10.5 million Mexicans, more than half of whom are here illegally.

“The situation is simply out of control,” said immigration activist Ira Mehlman, of the Federation for Immigration Reform.

Illegal immigrants, whom this study refers to as "unauthorized migrants," are pushing down the quality of schools and pushing up crime rates and health care costs, the study says. Because they primarily work low-wage jobs, Mehlman says they're pushing out the middle class and creating a Third World subculture within the United States (search).

“We're destroying what we have in this country,” Mehlman said. “We're obliterating the future for our children and we're doing it for the sake of a few employers who want low-wage labor.”

Latino labor leaders say Mexicans are coming north looking for better lives and that low-wage jobs here are better than no jobs there. Besides, they ask, if immigrants don't take those jobs, who will?

“You go to any part of California and the Southwest — now I'm traveling through the southern states through the Midwest — and you see who's working in the fields, who's picking the crops,” said union leader Maria Elena Durazo. “It's Mexican immigrants.”


Durazo also believes immigrants, legal and otherwise, are not lowering wages but boosting productivity.

The contribution of Mexican immigrants has been extremely important to the U.S. economy.

Why are local and state officials asking people to not boycott the Mexican Consulate? I say all should go down to the Mexican consulate and hold it hostage ( figuratively ) and harrass in public those who would harbor a fugitive (kind word for this punk, coward, degewnerate).
I guess we will have to wait untill we all speak spanish and fly that ugly mexican flag up the ol pole before we get any justice on this case.

O.C. Raid Takes Out Local Leaders of the Mexican Mafia, FBI Says

A task force of 300 police officers launched early morning raids throughout Orange County on Wednesday, serving 40 warrants and capping a two-year investigation that authorities said could topple the Mexican Mafia's drug dealing enterprise in the county.

Officers arrested 24 people, including Peter Ojeda, 63, a La Habra resident identified as the ranking Mexican Mafia soldier in Orange County. Ojeda controlled the drug trade of local Latino street gangs, using violence and strong-arm tactics to keep underlings in line, authorities said. He is believed to have run a criminal organization for about 30 years. But the crimes attributed to the defendants allegedly occurred this year and in 2004, said Richard Garcia, assistant FBI director in Los Angeles.

Ojeda and the others were charged under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. United States Atty. Debra W. Yang said the case marked the first time that defendants were charged under RICO in Orange County.

The federal law is commonly used by prosecutors to go after organized crime figures. The Mexican Mafia is a powerful prison gang that authorities say controls drug distribution and other illegal activities in Latino communities in Southern California.

Twelve other defendants in custody on unrelated charges also were charged in a three-count indictment unsealed Wednesday. The racketeering charges include allegations of drug trafficking, extortion, assault and murder.

In addition to dismantling the so-called Ojeda Organization, authorities also arrested members of the Santa Ana-based West Myrtle Street Gang.

The investigation was spearheaded by the Santa Ana Police Department's Gang Task Force and Career Criminal Unit.

Santa Ana Police Chief Paul M. Walters said the probe and the sweep were conducted in near secrecy by federal, state and police investigators who worked from police headquarters.

The FBI's Garcia said the arrests "took out all of the main leaders of the Mexican Mafia" in Orange County.

Will Michael Jackson make an appearance at Bob Geldof 's Live 8 concert in London?

No one knows for sure — but Jackson, as this column predicted last month, is getting ready to head to Europe.

According to sources, the trip could come in the next week.

This much is known right now: Jackson is not staying at his Neverland ranch. He's been shuttling back and forth between the ranch and the close-by Santa Ynez Inn, a restored Victorian hotel with — for Jackson — reasonable rates of around $400 a night.

Last night, sources said, the exonerated pop star may have decamped for a hotel in Beverly Hills. In the past, Jackson has set up shop at Merv Griffin's Beverly Hilton or at the Four Seasons.

But soon, sources tell me, Jackson will be getting out of town completely. Plans are being made for him to head to Europe.

SANTA FE -- Hospital emergency room workers will begin asking some patients for immigration documents.
The new questions will determine whether federal money can be used to pay for the care of undocumented immigrants.

New Mexico qualifies for $5.1 million in new federal funds for the 2005 fiscal year.

Some immigrant-advocacy groups are concerned that the program will undermine efforts by immigrants to seek medical attention.

Patients can qualify for the program if they don't have legal documents such as a green card or a valid nonimmigrant visa.

They also must be able to prove they were born outside the United States.

A huge story that just is not getting much if any coverage from the mainstream press is what is going on in the boarder town of Nuevo Laredo. This Mexican town has a huge crime rate and recent murder rate of police. This last weekend the newly appointed chief of police was murdered by drug lords and ilk. Mexican Federals moved in to the town only to be greated by gunfire. Gunfire that appearently cam from the local police. Now with close to 700 city officials arrested and 40 faceing seriouse charges will the drufg lords come in fireing or in with more bribe money?

ALTAR, Mexico — They arrive daily by the hundreds. In vans and buses, migrants from all over Mexico and beyond converge on the small town of Altar in the Mexican state of Sonora. Some 60 miles south of the U.S.- Mexico border, Altar has become a major staging ground for illegal immigration.

Around the town square, migrants make connections with human smugglers — who are also called “coyotes” or “polleros” — who can sneak them into the United States.

“These guys charges us $800-1,500 dollars to cross, a lot of money,” said one 27-year-old man who declined to give his name.

Migrants told us the reason they resort to crossing illegally is that obtaining passports and travel papers from the Mexican government is often difficult at best. Also, going through official channels would make themselves known to authorities.

To be sure, illegal immigration is a thriving and very public business in Altar.

Street vendors openly hawk backpacks, sturdy shoes, emergency kits and dark clothing for migrants on their way to the desert.

And the town is home to many boarding houses with multiple three- and four-tiered metal bunk beds where migrants rest before attempting a border run.

Around the town square, vans line up to shuttle migrants to the border. The fare to travel in a van packed with as many as 18 people inside is 100 pesos, or about $9.

The prosecution 1, Defense 3. Once again the prosecution looses another what should have been a slam dunk. I pray that God shows mercy to anyone who may harm my family or people I care about because the justice system has collapsed into a quagmire of self indulgeing fame wanting egos in jury pools.Obviousely facts are not important and logic is ignored. How can it be that within minutes of a verdict it is announced that one jurer has a book deal and others are seeking interviews with not only American press but with the international press. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the interviews on BBC.
What self indulgent people are there that get picked to pass judgement on someone? The decision to find Michael Jackson innocent was based on the fact the jury did not like the victems mother. What does she have to do with what may or may not have happened? Any way this is the common factor used by the jury on making their judgment. " As a whole we just did not like the mother".

First the prosecution allowed jury tampering and racial intimidation to decided a botched slam dunk in the O.J. case. Then in the Robert Blake case another dismal presentation by the prosecution may have possibly allowed yet another murder walk. I am amazed that a guilty verdict was rendered in the Peterson trial. Wss it because Scott did not have a whole lot of money? Or was it that he was an average white male? No I think it was because in that case a jury actually looked at the facts presented and rendered a proper verdict. No stars or racial implications. Just the facts and a murdered pregnant woman.

Lets take a look at the facts that I heard. In the Jackson case a male 40 plus in age, allowed young boys to sleep with him in his bed. Does this not send up some sort of red flag. Second his home did have child pornography hidden in his hidden room off of the bedroom. Now a hidden room off of the main bedroom that had a bed and other material.... again a red flag. Alcohol was withion reach of these children. This is ireresponsible, again a red flag. Now maybe Michael did not do anything but his holding his own child over a balcony and this other distinctly shows a man who should not be left alone with little boys and small children.
I can go on and on about the fact he has a historyu of paying large settlements to others who have accused him of molestation. Again another major red flag. I for one think that where there is smoke , the chances are there is a fire.
I suppose that the larger and most important question is one seldom asked . What parent would allow their child to spend the night with a person of Michaels questionable mental state. Then who in the future is going to allow their child to spend time with Michael now. More than likely lots of piss poor parents are going to be lineing up and pushing their children at him. Amazing how soon we forget.
If anything has come out of this whole trial we have learned two very important things. One Michael is definately creepy. The other is that people never learn. I guess there is a third and more important lesson here. One that I am sure many are going to argue. But third I have learned that the average jurer is like a deer in the headlights. Once the spot light is upon them they fold like a marionette for its puppettier. Bending and yielding to emotion and the flicker of promised fame.

I walk away still believing that Michael is guilty, O.J. did it, peterson got what he deserved and that if I see Robert Blake on the street I am heading the opposite way. Why, because there is no justice.

As crime in this country is on the rise. A very interesting fact comes to light. More and more violent crimes are being commited by illegals with impunity under American law. Prime example Gomez Garcia, a murderer and punk from Mexico. Now sitting in a Mexican jail. He will sit there for a few months untill Mexico decides if they want to let him be extridited to America to face justice or not. Govenor Bill Owens seems to think that by kowtowing to mexican demands of making sure there is a possibility of parole and no death sentance for this murderer that he will be releaseed to face charges in the United States.

America's Most Dangerous Gang

Spreading from El Salvador to L.A. and across the United States, Mara Salvatrucha 13 is increasingly well organized and deadly.

Within one hour, two people were found murdered miles apart in suburban Nassau County, N.Y. After an intensive investigation, police officials learned the murders were the work of the violent street gang Mara Salvatrucha 13. It also soon became apparent the gang was sending a bold message to its members and associates. That message: “If you are not loyal, you are dead.”

Finding Sanctuary


Los Angeles and New York law enforcement and even politicians are aware of the impact of MS-13 on their streets and on their crime statistics. So they’ve taken action. The results are usually not stellar, but at least these cities have recognized that MS-13 is a problem. Unfortunately, the leadership of MS-13 is not stupid. Once the heat comes down hard in L.A. and New York, they head for new turf, choosing Midwestern and Southern and suburban cities where gangs “are not an issue” and local officials and authorities are in denial.


And once MS-13 takes hold in a community, it grows fast. The gang reportedly has some 300 members in suburban Long Island. A few years back it didn’t have any.


Once MS-13 shows up on the radar, some local officials and authorities will take action. In Nassau County, for example, a joint gang task force headed by the FBI and comprised of local police departments, has arrested 16 leaders of MS-13. They were charged with two murders, assault, conspiracy, and firearms violations.


Such investigations aren’t easy because MS-13 has a pretty strident zero-tolerance policy toward anyone who informs the cops of their activities.

IN ANTOTHER CASE OF PROTECT MEXICANS OVER AMERICANS READ THIS:

In another case of justice denied, the murderer of Phoenix high school student Tanee Natividad merely crossed the border into Mexico to escape law enforcement. A local television station was able to track down the murderer in a bar just a few miles across the border without much effort. Max LaMadrid has no reason to hide because the Mexican government actually helps violent criminals escape American justice. According to Arizona Attorney General Janet Napolitano, action by the Mexican supreme court making it more difficult to extradite criminals has "created an incentive for people to flee into Mexico as a safe harbor." At one time, Mexico would not extradite criminals who might be subject to the death penalty; the Mexican court recently extended this "protection" to any Mexican who might receive a life sentence, thereby giving a free pass to rapists, kidnappers and child molesters. In fact, the investigating reporter found 100 cases of violent criminals from the Phoenix area escaping into Mexico in just the last few years. Meanwhile, the grieving family of 16-year-old Tanee gets no justice — like thousands of others in the southwest.


Darlene Squires, the distraught mother of a disabled teenager, one of two girls who were raped on October 24, 2002, by three members of a Salvadoran street gang located in Somerville, Massachusetts. Aged 17 and 14, both victims are deaf and one has cerebral palsy. Mrs. Squires believed that the attacks were a retaliation against her family because her husband confronted the young men after they had harassed the Squires son. Later reports indicated the men arrested for the crime were illegal aliens.Law enforcement officials were concerned about increased violence from the MS-13 gang which was "believed to have originated in part with soldiers and their families who left El Salvador." Local residents estimate the gang has more than 100 members in their community. An update a few months after the Squires crime showed that the gang problem in the community has only gotten worse.


The murder of Kris Eggle (see the separate page of collected articles), a park ranger in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in southern Arizona on August 9, 2002, was little noted by the media, although the press has paid considerable attention to the deaths of illegal aliens on the border. By contrast, Ranger Eggle was shot down by Mexican drug dealers who were using Organ Pipe as a route for their smuggling. Only 28 when he was murdered, Eggle was a valedictorian and an Eagle Scout who joined the National Park Service because he loved the outdoors. (Organ Pipe is considered to be the most dangerous of the national park system: 200,000 illegal aliens and 700,000 pounds of drugs were intercepted at the park in 2001.) The Eggle family is determined that his death will not be forgotten by working for real border control, including a Washington press conference with Tom Tancredo in the fall of 2002. Eighteen-year-old Tricia Taylor of Detroit was in court in December 2002 to hear the plea of the illegal alien who caused her to lose both legs above the knees. Jose Carcamo was driving under the influence (.08 percent blood alcohol level) and speeding when he drove over a curb and smashed Taylor into a wall. One report stated that Carcamo has had 17 violations since 1995. Another noted that he was drag racing at the time of the crash. It is agreed that the car was travelling between 50 and 75 miles per hour on a street posted for 25 mph. Taylor's companion Noah Menard suffered a fractured skull and collarbone, as well as requiring eight pins to reconstruct his mangled elbow. The INS had twice begun deportation proceeding against Carcamo to return him to El Salvador, but regrettably did not follow through. Carcamo will be out of jail in a few years, but Tricia Taylor faces a lifetime of pain and disability because of another failure of the INS to remove a dangerous alien. Incidentally, drinking to excess and then driving is celebrated in Hispanic cultures rather than condemned.
Sentencing Update: On January 13, 2003 Jose Carcamo was sentenced to 3-5 years in prison. Four months after the crash, Tricia Taylor still must take pain medication, antibiotics, anti-depressants and sleeping pills. Chronic bone infection means she may yet lose more of her right leg. Carcamo sent a note of apology to Taylor and Menard, but misspelled the names. She responded, "It hurts me every time I see him. He acts like he's sorry, but you'd think he would know our names." She is not forgiving, either: "I have my whole life with no legs ... I'm only 18. He gets no forgiveness."
{note that he had over 17 violations before this accident. What was he doing behind the wheel of a car. Drunk at the time and drag raceing. A very lite sentance considering what has happened to the victem. }

Sister Helen Chaska was murdered in late summer 2002 by being strangled with her rosary beads — the beads were found imbedded in her neck. She was also raped, as was another nun who accompanied Sister Helen during walking prayers. Both women were in Klamath Falls, Oregon, doing missionary work when the crimes occurred. Her accused murderer is Maximiliano Esparza, who is in the United States illegally, and was convicted in 1988 of robbery and kidnapping in Los Angeles. He was sentenced to six years in prison, was released in 1992 and was on probation until 1995. By law, this man should have been deported to Mexico after his release in 1992. Instead, the INS allowed him to remain in the United States and commit even more heinous crimes. In this article, Michelle Malkin notes the Esparza crime and other examples of INS standard procedure of "catch and release" in violation of law.
Sentencing Update: On April 8, 2003, Esparza was sentenced to life in prison without parole. The sentence was a deal worked out with the prosecution to avoid a trial with the possibility of the death penalty. Klamath County District Attorney Ed Caleb said that he wanted to avoid forcing the other nun who had been attacked to testify. In addition, Caleb sent a bill to the Mexican consulate for the cost of investigating and prosecuting the case. Not much chance of getting any money, but it is a reasonable gesture.

Amnesty Int'l Aided 9/11 Plotter

The human rights group Amnesty International - which accuses America of running a "gulag" at Guantanamo Bay - apparently aided in the escape of a key al-Qaida member who's suspected of helping plan the 9/11 attacks.

Just two months after the World Trade Center was destroyed, Amnesty issued one of its "URGENT ACTION" reports on behalf of Ahmed Hikmat Shakir, who was then being detained by Jordanian security forces in connection with a planning session for the 9/11 attacks.

SACRAMENTO, June 10 - A federal judge denied bail on Friday to an American man of Pakistani descent who is under investigation by federal law enforcement officials for possible terrorist connections with Al Qaeda.
The federal magistrate judge, Peter A. Nowinski, denied release based on the possible flight risk of the man, Hamid Hayat, 22, who was arrested along with his father this week after the authorities said he lied about attending what they believed was a Pakistani training camp affiliated with Al Qaeda.

"The charges are very serious," Judge Nowinski said during a brief hearing in Federal District Court in Sacramento. "Considering all the circumstances, there is a motive to flee and certainly the means to flee."...

After the hearing, Mr. Hayat's lawyer, Wazhma Mojaddidi, said, "Of course, I'm disappointed."

Ms. Mojaddidi said she believed her client to be innocent.

"I've met with my client a number of times, and I find him to be a warm, gentle kind person," she said.

Dean is the head of the National Democratic Commity. His job is to raise money and help get a democrat elected. What better way then to be as outragouse and extreme. Listen , every one knows that presently the democrats are being lead by extremist agenda and by lefty liberals who really enjoy blaming America first. By publicly stateing and having the other elected extremists supporting Deans outlandish words the hope of getting main stream democrates back into the fold may work. Especially now that the Republicans have ceeded elected power in the Senate and Congress back to the minority party.
Allowing the Nancy Pelosi's , Ted Kennedy's, and other Lenninist to dictate the coarse of society is dangerouse. The election showed the majority of Americans wanted a more conservatgive course. U.S. Agents Raid Fla. Migrant Labor Camp

EAST PALATKA, Fla. -- Federal agents raided a migrant farm labor camp where homeless men and women were kept in what labor officials called a version of modern-day slavery.

Four people, including the camp's owner, Ronald Evans, face federal charges in a case that officials said is likely to grow. Investigators are looking into alleged environmental violations and drugs found at the camp in Friday's raid.

"The word is out that we are concerned about human trafficking, and we will leave no stone or camp unturned," said Steve Cole, a spokesman for Jacksonville U.S. attorney Paul I. Perez.

Officials said homeless people were recruited to the Evans Labor Camp through offers of room and board, along with alcohol, tobacco and drugs, which they bought on credit. But they never made enough in the field to pay it off, according to an investigative summary.

"A lot of times, they get them indebted even before they get back to the camp," said federal agent Rebecca Hall.

In a small central shed, investigators found about 100 rocks of suspected crack cocaine along with cigarettes and beer. Detective Lt. John Merchant described the shed as a "shop" where the rocks were sold for $20 each.

Department of Labor agents were joined in the raid by local officials and agents from the Environmental Protection Agency, which was investigating illegal dumping of raw sewage into a tributary of the St. Johns River.

"They've found what clearly looks like EPA violations, discharging raw sewage into the environment," said Putnam County Sheriff's Capt. Gary Bowling.

Seventy-eight potato field workers were interviewed at the compound south of Jacksonville. Some were arrested on unrelated, outstanding warrants.

Federal civil rights attorneys waited outside the camp to talk to the workers, offering them help getting out of the camp and finding other work. About 20 left with the attorneys.

Denver Sanctuary Policy Protects Illegal Cop-Killer—Who Also (Get This!) Worked For Mayor

At 1 a.m. on May 8, Mother’s Day, Denver Police Detective Donald Young was assassinated with a point blank shot to the back of his head. A bullet proof vest saved the life of his partner, who was shot in the back.

Raul Garcia-Gomez, the suspect, a 19-year old illegal alien from Mexico, then went home to his three-week-old anchor baby and reportedly confessed his crime to his girlfriend. Next day, his girlfriend told the Rocky Mountain News, he rose early, packed his things, and went to his job as a dishwasher for a restaurant owned by—Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. Then he fled.

(Garcia-Gomez’ girlfriend has since denied harboring a known killer, probably on the advice of a lawyer.)

By midweek, Garcia-Gomez’ abandoned car was found in L.A.—where his mother and her other children lived— and Fox News was reporting she had bought him a one-way bus ticket to Mexico. (She has now abandoned their home in L.A.)

At the time of the shooting, Detective Young and his partner were moonlighting. They were providing security for a private baptism party held at a liquor establishment, which required they be in uniform. Party invitations shown on TV were in Spanish. Following the cold-blooded killing, Spanish-speaking interpreters interviewed some witnesses. Others simply disappeared—likely due to their illegal status.

As Denver police released information to the media, a familiar story began to take shape: Garcia-Gomez had been in Denver for 10 months, working for Mayor Hickenlooper’s restaurant almost as long. (Reports are Garcia-Gomez’ girlfriend’s uncle runs the kitchen.) Police had stopped Garcia-Gomez three times in the past seven months for traffic violations.

Colorado law requires new residents to secure Colorado Driver's Licenses within 90 days of arriving, or upon getting a job—whichever happens first. But seven months of repeated police encounters didn’t result in the DPD or the courts contacting ICE about Garcia-Gomez.

How could this be? Denver is stunned.

Except for me—and the readers of VDARE.COM. My VDARE.COM column Victimizing Peter to Pay (For) Paco: The SCAAP Scam had already cited and linked to Denver Police Department’s written policy of de facto sanctuary for illegal aliens. It maintains that immigration is a federal matter, and that

“Generally, officers will not detain, arrest, or take enforcement action against a person solely because he/she is suspected of being an undocumented immigrant. If enforcement action is deemed necessary under these circumstances, the approval of an on duty supervisor or commander is required...” ( DENVER (Colorado) POLICE DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS MANUAL, 100 – 90).

This “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, as some police officers call it, has created a two-tiered legal system, with lower standards for illegal aliens like Gomez. Americans driving without a license get arrested, illegals go free.

By the evening of the May 8 cop killing, I had emailed (as at least one other reader) my VDARE.COM column and the full text of the Denver Police Sanctuary Policy to Peter Boyles, a talkshow host on Clear Channel’s KHOW-AM radio.

And for the first time ever, the Main Stream Media began to cover the special treatment and privileges illegal aliens enjoy.

Mayor Hickenlooper (D) was first. Boyles, noting that the suspect had worked in Hickenlooper’s restaurant for at least nine months, and that one month earlier the Social Security office had notified management of Garcia-Gomez’ “bad” SSN with no effect whatsoever, asked “Does the buck stop with you, Mayor?” [Listen to the Mayor Hickenlooper interview]

The Hick swiftly passed the buck. He claimed his own version of sanctuary status—saying he was a “silent partner” in the restaurant venture that radio news later reported had 100 employees with questionable SSNs.

The Mayor further denied that Denver had any sanctuary policies in place—a word game, like President Bush’s not-an-amnesty proposal. He said that months earlier he had ordered the City Attorney Cole Finegan to research the question, and came up with nothing.

Just one week earlier, Hick’s radio spots thanking Denver’s Latino “gente” for their many contributions and promoting Cinco de Mayo as a new American holiday ran on many radio stations. Hick no doubt felt an obligation to thank the raza groups for supporting the funding of a new jail, which currently houses many “Latinos” and generates millions in Federal reimbursements for criminal aliens under the SCAAP program, with repeat offenders generating big bucks.

Enter Congressman Tom Tancredo (R), who called the Mayor a liar. He reported that he had met with the Mayor after the Hick was elected. At that meeting, Tancredo told the Mayor that, until Denver rescinded its illegal alien sanctuary policy, he would champion a bill to cut the City and others off of Homeland Security funding. According to Tancredo, Mayor Hickenlooper threatened to sue the Feds if that happened.

The Mayor has since disappeared from the media.

Next up was City Attorney Cole Finegan, [email him] who also asserted Denver had no sanctuary policy, only to be confronted with Police Procedure 104.52.

And Boyles also produced former Mayor Wellington Webb’s 1998 Executive Order 116, which was introduced at a press conference at Rosalinda’s Mexican Restaurant. Calling it an “improvement” over INS procedures, Webb boasted EO 116 would end “discrimination” by strongly opposing federal distinctions among immigrant groups.

(Former Mayor Webb is now nowhere to be found...possibly he has fled to Mexico.)

Trying to divert attention from his own failure to uncover at least two policies providing special privileges and different legal standards to illegal aliens, Finegan claimed Tancredo was impeding the investigation and capture of Garcia-Gomez, who was probably sipping margaritas in Mexico. (Listen to Tancredo & Finegan face off.)

Open-borders media talking heads praised Mayor Hickenlooper’s “compassion” for hiring illegal aliens, serving up the same ole “better life” tripe. None mentioned that these unscreened food service employees provide a la carte Hep A, intestinal parasites, TB, chagas and dengue to diners.

On May 11th, City Attorney Finegan - still denying Denver is a Sanctuary City - sought cover under a State statute. The Secure and Verifiable ID Act gives Colorado peace officers immunity if they accept insecure and unverifiable ID. The law was passed by a Republican majority under pressure from law enforcement lobbyists, and signed by Governor Bill Owens in 2003. But of course this attempt by the police to avoid liability doesn't change the fact of Denver's written policy.

Towards the end of this turbulent week, Colorado’s Attorney General John Suthers opined that if the murderer had fled to Mexico—which refuses to extradite suspects facing the death penalty or life imprisonment—Colorado would probably capitulate to Mexican standards of justice, and just might have Garcia-Gomez tried in a Mexican Court.

(In 2002, a group of immigration activists including me sent then US Attorney Suthers a registered letter requesting an investigation of what we believed to be unlawful sanctuary policies in place in Boulder City and County. Suthers didn’t even bother to acknowledge our request.)

Time to put Old Glory away, fellas, and run Mexico’s orange, green and white up the flagpole at all Denver Courts, jails, and the Capitol building.

Our impotent, fearful, no-can-do, but still-feeding-at-the-public-trough public servants have effectively capitulated to a foreign power, breaching their oaths of office, and turning our justice system over to the Republic of Mexico, and other Third World powers.

Some dare call it “treason.”

This American believes highly trained American Special Forces should head for Mexico to locate and return scores of Mexican murderers who should face American-style justice on American soil, where they committed their heinous crimes.

I cannot help but think the time has come for a straight-thinking Mayor or Governor to establish a zero-tolerance Sanctuary City or State for Americans.

Several of Garcia-Gomez's family members were also arrested and will be charged as accomplices. From the Post:

Garcia-Gomez, who had been the subject of a police dragnet in Colorado, California and Mexico, was arrested about 6 p.m. in Culiacán, Mexico, about 1,000 miles south of Los Angeles. He was in the custody of U.S. marshals, who planned to bring him to Mexico City today to face extradition.
The suspect's father, sister and a relative who might be an uncle were taken into custody in Los Angeles on immigration charges. Denver Police Chief Gerry Whitman said he would ask that all three face federal charges of aiding the crime by harboring a fugitive. A fourth person, Jaime Arana-Del Angel, 27, was arrested in Denver on Monday on charges of accessory to murder, Whitman said.

Despite the reported cooperation of Mexican authorities in finding Garcia-Gomez, our neighbor to the south is a massive obstruction to victims' families seeking justice. As the Post notes:

[T]he task of bringing him from Mexico to Denver could involve months of delicate negotiations with Mexican authorities, Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey warned.
"My concern is that this is not going to be a quick situation," Morrissey said. "It might take months, even a year."

One key problem is that Mexico does not return fugitives captured in Mexico if U.S. prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty or if the suspect faces life in prison without chance of parole.

Despite that, Morrissey said he intends to get Raul Garcia-Gomez, 20, "back here as soon as possible."

Morrissey said he has not decided what charges would be filed against Garcia-Gomez or if he would seek the death penalty. He would not address whether he would be willing to reduce charges against Garcia-Gomez to ensure his extradition but said he doubts that Garcia-Gomez will be executed.

[ My questions are as follows 1) If Mexico in the intersts of better relations does not release Gomez to Colorado authorities why should Colorado even consider listening to Consulte Matricula card arguments. 2) The assasination was commited in America, specifically in Denver Colorado. Our law allows for the death penalty in capitol murders. So what does it matter to the Mexican government. They execute foriegners often and without trial. 3) What the hell is the Denver D.A., sayning or implying he won't seek the death penalty? This if any case as of late deserves a death sentance it is this one.

An absolute must-read. Mona Charen roasts the touchy-feely State Department's "outreach" efforts in the Arab world:

"Real Men Moisturize." So begins an article on "Sharp Dressed Men" that appeared in a State Department funded magazine aimed at youth in the Arab world. The magazine, called "Hi" is published in Arabic and English. A State Department website explains that Hi is published "with the hope of building bridges of greater understanding among our cultures."
The article continues: "In fact, some of them, like Michael Gustman, a 25-year-old public relations account executive from Boca Raton, Fla., even have separate moisturizers for the face and body. Facial pores can clog with too heavy a salve, it seems. Not long ago, these and other habits would have been considered odd for a male. Gustman exfoliates. He gets manicures. He gets pedicures. He gets facials. He gets his hair done every two weeks. He accessorizes. He puts effort into getting ready for a date. He loves cooking complex dishes. He's a refined, evolved, sensitive guy. In a word, he's a metrosexual."

The photo accompanying the story pictures the male author seated in a pedicure chair, pants rolled up to his knees, along with half a dozen women enjoying the same treatment. (The women's faces aren't visible, but we can guess that they look puzzled or possibly even repelled.)

First things first. Is this what the U.S. State Department thinks America is really like? How many men, outside a tiny subset in major cities, are the primping, feminized "metrosexuals" the article lauds? Not many. You cannot enhance understanding between one people and another by presenting a false version of one side.

But more importantly, is this the way to "build bridges" between the Arab world and ourselves? Does the State Department believe that Arab males -- some of whom do not permit their wives and daughters to go out in public without a male family member as escort, others of whom think nothing of killing a daughter who dishonors the family by fraternizing with a boy -- are going to be impressed with a vision of America in which males are feminized "exfoliated," smooth-skinned eunuchs?

The following are loose and running around. Why won't the American or for that matter the Mexican and other governments do anything about these creeps. Where is the justice?

Nicolas Jacinto-Huerta, who was convicted of "Sex with a Minor", Jose Ramos Salmeron, who was convicted of "Aggravated Sexual Assault" and "Indecency with a Child, Sexual Contact", and Carlos Avila-Gonzalez, who was convicted of "Assault to Commit Mayhem Rape, etc." and "Assault with intent to commit rape/sodomy", were arrested by US Border Patrol agents for illegally reentering the US after being deported. Daniel Morales-Morales, 38, and Sergio Flores-Saenz, 27, were arrested by ICE and have been placed in removal proceedings for deportation. Both men were convicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 who was related to them. Morales-Morales pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child in 2003. Flores-Saenz pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two children in 2000 and 2002. It is in the juries hands now. The fate of a odd man. Is he a pedifile or just an excentric who loves children (young boys especially). Watching the case with some interests but not glued to it I have mixed feelings over all of this. I would like to put my faith in the hands of the jury in hopes that they will come back with a guilty verdict. However having watched several well publicized cases I have a bad feeling over this. As is the norm of late it would appear that if you are a celebrity and of an ethnic background you are above the law.
I predict that should he be found guilty, his lawyers will ask for time for him to get his affairs in order before sentancing. During this time Michael jackson will flee jurisdiction and either live in France or some other country that will not extridite him back here for his punishment.
Now should he be found innocent (a big miscarriage of justice in my book) I think the P.R. campaign will go into full swing and ruin the lives of every and anybody who is associated with the prosecution. Watch as Jackson lawyers go after the D.A. for wrongful prosecution and racism. How they will destroy by racial slurs witnesses who testified against him. Also keep an eye on Calipso Louie and his militant racial activists who will propagandize how the man (white America) tried to take an honest hard working Black man down but failed.
Thats my opinions and thoughts. Only time will tell if I am right or totally off the mark.

With all of this hoopla over the alledged misshandeling of the Qua'ran I wonder what makes it so much more special then the Bible or the Tora. For that matter what seperates it from any other religiouse writing. Are not the first writings of Budda just as sacried? The Pentagon has gone to great lengths to set up procedures on the handeling of this book. I for one am just a little offended that it should be placed on a scale higher then my religiouse book.
On the Dennis Preagor show friday the 3rd of june, he pointed out an excellant point. Why do we have to handle this book with gloves (I say we refering to the military at Gitmo)and with two hands. Ok a show of respect obviousely. So why is it we are bending over backwards for these criminals. Yes I say criminals for that is what they are. (not getting into their status as pow's this time, although I am in favor of upgrading their geneva convention status to pow so that they may be treated as spies defined by the convention then taken out and shot.)
During all these great protests by the muslim community you do see them waving the Qua'ran around by ungloved hands, and with only one hand like a southern baptist at a revival tent meeting.
Does their lack of respect for their own teachings afford them the right to do this ...sure it does. So why if they are a great and Tolerant religion are they so offended by soomeone who is not of their religion who shows little respect for them as they do for other religions?

Islam has been hailed as one of the three great religions, why? Read the Qua'ran sometime. It is oppressive, biased, secular, sexist, and nontolerant of any one who does not fall in blindly to its teachings.
I am offended when Palestinians burn thousands of Toras and Bibles in a book burning. The desecration of Christian sites and Jewish Holy sites. If the Qua'ran teaches tolerance why do not the Mullas speak ouot on these acts? Why is it just for them (muslims ) to be afforded civil rights while being detained. A chance to practice their religiouse beliefs yet when a Christian or a Jew is taken captive they are not allowed anything other then a brutal death?
The Qua'ran as well as the Bible , Tora, writings of Budda, are all just writen copies of thought and good moral principles to the most point. So if one handles this book with one hand or knocks it off a table by accident has it hurt the teachings any? It is what is inside that counts. The practice of the teachings that shows the true colors of a religion. Not the forced treatment on others of the handeling of a book.
