Local Sob story, boo hoo

In a report from channel nine news here in Denver. Channel nine inadvertantly exposes the hypocrasy and amnesty the Denver Mayor Hickenlooper is guilty of. Guilty of pandering to get votes for educational promises he is having problems fulfilling.

In 2004 Hickenlooper promised Cole middle school students that they would recieve finacial aid for collage studies. However the enviorment in this State, one that is tired of footing the bill for ILLEGALS, is coming up short on. As the law states that ILLEGALS are not eligable for instate tuition priceing for their school. Rather they have to pay out of state costs.

A differance of approximately $19,000.00 dollars. In state tuition is roughly $5900.00 per 12 credit hours and out of state is $25,000.00.

The sob story aspect comes into play as students of ILLEGAL ALIEN parents are complaining that they can not afford the higher fees. That it is unfair for them and not their fault their parents came here ILLEGALY, and therefore they should not be punished for it. Ok a valid point, but inconsequencial in the big picture of things.

Channel nine only interviews those who fit into this catagory. The children who were born outside this country and entered ILLEGALLY themselves. Thus making them ineligable under the LAW to recieve instate consideration.

With the recent boosting of collage funding by the proamnesty Govenor, Bill Ritter. State collages are recieving millions more this next year in funding from tax dollars.

While across this country thousands and thousands of students take on part time jobs, seek pell grants and apply for scholarships to help suplement their coast of a higher education. Here in Denver, particularly in the DPS system. Many are thinking that they are entitled to getting aid for their furthering of education. Something Hickenlooper favors.

Furthering ones education is noble and a good thing (if the student can see through the B.S. and political correct spin on studies). The idea of being entitled to finacial aid is a leftist idea.

Why should the tax payer who has a child or several, trying to put them through collage. Have to dig deeper into their pockets to supplement someone else child.

Hickenlooper opened his mouth and made promises our pocket books can not and hopefully will not fulfill.

By making an excepting for those deemed to be out of state students, a precident is set that is unfair to others who may be out of state. Should not a student from Des Moines recieve a break in his or her tuition as well then. Its is only fair if one out of state studnet gets it should they not all get aid?

Then does not this policy punish in state students and force them to seek education somewhere else. More then likely out of state as well, say Oklahoma City Community Collage?

Hickenlooper, as many Democrates and POLITICIANS, are guilty of opening their mouths and speaking before they look at the whole picture. Something that they have gotten away with for years and something that we the voters are guilty of allowing.

Unfortunately the students who have goals of a collage degree are caught in the middle as Proffesors and Collage staff line their pockets with our tax money. All the while provideing less and less for their pay. Elected officials get reelected and waste our time buy pandering and giving lip service.

A true sob story.
