Pelosi; outof the pan and into the fire?
Is Nancy Pelosi feeling the heat a little? Well picture this. if the old saying of out of the pan and into the fire, along with get out of the kitchen are true. Then Nancy is climbing into the pan and trying to make a bee line for the kitchen door.
The Speaker of the House finds herself in the midst of some serious trouble. Trouble that comes from her own lies and attempts to distort the truth about the facts. What the media seems to be ignoring is that by her own admission she is incompetent and placed elections over National Security.
Nancy Pelosi would have the American, and the people of the world believe that former President Bush is still pulling strings in the ever vast "right wing conspiracy". The truth , by her own admission is a lack of ethics and responsibility to the job she was elected to do.
Fact, in 2002 Nancy Pelosi was ranking member of the Intelligence Committee. In this position it was her responsibility to review and oversea what the C.I.A and other intelligence agencies were doing. Thus is she is telling the truth that she was not informed in these briefings, "waterboarding had already been employed and that those briefing me in September 2002 gave me inaccurate and incomplete information". It is clear that she lies and failed to pay attention to what was going on around her and in front of her eyes. The C.I.A. has released the documents that she was given a copy of, so again we have evidence that members of congress who can not read.
Her job , while on this committee was to read and pay attention to what was going on in the intelligence field. Clearly she did not do this.
In the transcript of her press conference she says clearly,
" Scott Muller by the new Democratic ranking member of committee, the appropriate person to register a protest. But no letter could change the policy. It was clear we had to change the leadership in Congress and in the White House. That was my job".
So instead of offering a letter of protest and concern as to what was happening she ignored this and did not follow through with her responsibility of investigating what is now considered torture. She was more interested in elections. Who's election by the way, Obama, or hers to Speaker of the House?
Remember this was in 2002 and 2003, not 2008. If she was so concerned about the war and fighting it as she claims. Then why did she fail to do anything at that time to correct protocol.
When Democrats assumed control of the Congress in 2007, Congress passed legislation banning torture and requiring all government agencies to abide by the Army Field Manual. President Bush vetoed this bill barring the use of torture. An effort to overturn his veto failed because of the votes of Republican members. said Pelosi today.
That is 2007 four years after the fact. She could not find time to speak out before now, 2009, about this. Of coarse she couldn't because it was not in her self interest to do so until she had control of congress and was in a different political power seat.
Just what are her motives? She is the one misleading the public about what was and was not told to congress. Even those in the briefings say that she is not telling the truth. Pelosi has another agenda and is trying to play the victim card of "right wing conspiracy" attacks.
I've always believed the Congress and the administration must review the National Security Act of 1947 -- now, we have a chance to do that with a new president -- to determine in a larger number of members of Congress should receive classified briefings so that the information can be utilized by proper oversight -- for proper oversight and legislative activity without violating oaths of secrecy. said Pelosi.
She said what? A larger number of congressional members for proper oversight. What does this tell you. In lay mans terms it means she wants congress to run all wars and not military leaders.
Look she is still calling for a "Truth Commission". fancy words for a political witch hunt. There is negligence and shirking of responsibility in Washington. However the vast majority of it falls right at the feet of those who are calling themselves leaders. Unfortunately for us they are in the positions of leadership.
If we do not remove these fools and bureaucrats from office as soon as possible we have no one to blame but our selves for the fall of America.
