The murder rate in Nuevo Laredo set a new record since the start of the year. The Mexican city is the site of a bloody turf battle between rival drug cartels.

Now there are concerns the drug cartels may be exploiting their cross border ties to stage an attack against rivals in Mexico.

Mexican soldiers have been posted at the entrance to 11 international bridges linking the state of Texas to Mexico, in the past few days they've been seen in Nuevo Laredo checking vehicles heading into Texas.

A border checkpoint is set up without warning in Mexico. The soldiers search northbound vehicles heading to Laredo.
(THIS IS NOT TRUE AS REPORTED ON THE DRUDGE, MANY SO CALLED MEXICAN SOLDIERS ARE ALLOWING DRUG RUNNERS AND HUMAN TRAFFICERS TO PASS UNABATED.)

They're looking for weapons, contraband, but also criminals who work for drug cartels locked in a battle to control the lucrative smuggling route that cuts through the sister cities.

"This is the best trade route in the whole country, in the nation and in both countries, so of course it's going to pass through Laredo," Laredo Mayor Betty Flores said.

Now there are signs traffickers may be using Laredo as a staging ground in their drug war.

"They have people working on both sides of the border. It's impossible for you to run a criminal organization without having people on the other side," Webb County Sheriff Rick Flores said.

Some of those people may have been working from a Laredo home where investigators found a small arsenal of high-powered weapons and homemade bombs, bulletproof vests, police scanners and cash.

Sources say the explosives and weapons found in one Laredo home were likely going to be used by drug traffickers against their rivals in Mexico, where the cartels are waging a bloody turf war.

Violence in Nuevo Laredo is at a record high. Murders are double the rate this time last year.

They include brazen attacks. Gunmen last week stormed an emergency room to finish off a 17-year-old they had tried to shoot earlier in the day.

Nuevo Laredo's police chief and others in U.S. law enforcement say young hitmen who are U.S. citizens evade the law by crossing the International Bridge.

They say there's evidence some of the contracts are carried out on U.S. soil. In December, a man was gunned down at a Laredo restaurant in front of his family. And just last week another man was shot in a movie theater parking lot.

"And we have had our fair share of shootings and homicides on this side that are somehow connected to the narco and human smuggling trafficking that's going on along the Texas-Mexican border," Rick Flores said.

However, the mayor of Laredo says her community should not be singled out and that drug violence is found in many cities. "In Dallas and in Houston and in New York and in every place," Betty Flores said.

Storm drops dark brown snow in Colo.

FRISCO, Colo. (AP) — Snow that some residents described as dark as chocolate brown was reported across parts of Colorado Thursday, a result of a wind storm in northern Arizona that kicked up dust that fell with the snow overnight, officials said.
"It's pretty much statewide," said Ethan Greene, director of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. "We've had reports from the San Juans, Winter Park ... all over."

Greene said it's not unusual to see plumes of reddish dust from the desert Southwest drop on the Rocky Mountains in the spring.Exceptionally dry conditions in northern Arizona contributed to the dust, Greene said.

Goin through my e-mail I was flattered. Dr Navarro or someone pretending to be him sent me an e-mail (I will post here). I was flattered that he actually took time to read my blog.

His contact to me comes from a posting titled "Armando Navarro ENEMY OF AMERICA". This was posted July 27, 2005 and is in the archieves should you like to go back and read about this person (term used loosly).

I am flattered yet totally perplexed at his utter lack of linguistical skill to defend his position on this mythical Aztlan. Instead of produceing any basis of fact. Other then name calling and insults. There was absolutely no dialog as to any evidance of Aztlan ever exisiting or proof of such a culture.

In the interest of dialog I have several questions to Dr. Navarro or to anyone who can calmly without becoming emotionally upset at the fact there iwas never ever an Aztlan.

My questions are simple and reasonable, as follows:

1) Who are the Aztlan people?

2) When did Aztlan rule over the Apache, Commanche, Arapohoe, Ute, Cheyenne, Hopi, Navaho, and other southand west Indian Nations?
I find no evidance of these proud Nations ever being subjecated other then when the westward movement of America happened.

3) If Aztlan is an old culture did they subjecate the Anasi as well?

4) Where is the archelogical evidance of their culture?

5) Was there trade between them and the Aztecs, Mayan's, or older cultures like the Olmecs or even Tolmecs?

6) Why the hostility toward America? The first socalled invaders were Spanish. It was the Spanish conquestadors. They are the ones who settled in California. Plundered across central and south America. Lead explorations time and time again into the South West united States developing trade and loose treaties with the Indians. So where is the documentation of the Spanish meeting with Aztlan?

Now if Aztlan did not come about untill after the Spanish conquest of this area. All these arguments presented by LaRaza are mute. As this culture was then developed and fell under the Mexican American war and the whole matter was settled by the treaty of Hildago.

Then in Nigeria:
Christian mobs, seeking revenge for the killings of Christians in the north, attacked Muslims with machetes, set fire to them, destroyed their houses and torched mosques in two days of violence in Onitsha, where 93 people died.

"We are very happy that this thing is happening so that the north will learn their lesson," said Anthony Umai, a motorcycle taxi rider, standing close to where Christian youths had piled up the corpses of 10 Muslims and were burning them.

Dozens more corpses had been thrown into the back of pick-up trucks by security services overnight, residents said.

In northern Maiduguri, where the Christian Association of Nigeria says 50 Christians were killed in a weekend riot that began as a protest against cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, tensions were high during several Christian funeral masses.

The Red Cross said at least 21 people died in Maiduguri and 9,000 were driven from their homes.

A crowd of Christian youths broke away from the burial of one of the victims, a Catholic priest, and ran shouting through the streets before police dispersed them.

News of the Maiduguri killings set off the bloodletting in Onitsha, and tit-for-tat violence spread on Wednesday to Enugu, another southeastern city, where seven people were killed.

Nigeria's 140 million people are divided about equally between Muslims in the north and Christians in the south, but sizeable religious minorities live in both regions.

Thousands of people have been killed in religious violence since the restoration of democracy in 1999. Killings in one part of the country often spark reprisals elsewhere.

PARIS (Reuters) - After backing calls by Muslims for respect for their religion in the Mohammad cartoons row, the Vatican is now urging Islamic countries to reciprocate by showing more tolerance toward their Christian minorities.

Roman Catholic leaders at first said Muslims were right to be outraged when Western newspapers reprinted Danish caricatures of the Prophet, including one with a bomb in his turban. Most Muslims consider any images of Mohammad to be blasphemous.

After criticizing both the cartoons and the violent protests in Muslim countries that followed, the Vatican this week linked the issue to its long-standing concern that the rights of other faiths are limited, sometimes severely, in Muslim countries.

Vatican prelates have been concerned by recent killings of two Catholic priests in Turkey and Nigeria. Turkish media linked the death there to the cartoons row. At least 146 Christians and Muslims have died in five days of religious riots in Nigeria.

"If we tell our people they have no right to offend, we have to tell the others they have no right to destroy us," Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the Vatican's Secretary of State (prime minister), told journalists in Rome.

"We must always stress our demand for reciprocity in political contacts with authorities in Islamic countries and, even more, in cultural contacts," Foreign Minister Archbishop Giovanni Lajolo told the daily Corriere della Sera.

Reciprocity -- allowing Christian minorities the same rights as Muslims generally have in Western countries, such as building houses of worship or practicing religion freely -- is at the heart of Vatican diplomacy toward Muslim states.

Vatican diplomats argue that limits on Christians in some Islamic countries are far harsher than restrictions in the West that Muslims decry, such as France's ban on headscarves in state schools.

Saudi Arabia bans all public expression of any non-Muslim religion and sometimes arrests Christians even for worshipping privately. Pakistan allows churches to operate but its Islamic laws effectively deprive Christians of many rights.

"Let's drop this diplomatic silence," said the rector of the Pontifical Lateran University. "We should put pressure on international organizations to make the societies and states in majority Muslim countries face up to their responsibilities."

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed the United States and Israel on Thursday for the destruction of a Shiite shrine's golden dome in Iraq, saying it was the work of "defeated Zionists and occupiers."

Speaking to a crowd of thousands on a tour of southwestern Iran, the president referred to the destruction of the Askariya mosque dome in Samarra on Wednesday, which the Iraqi government has blamed on insurgents.

"They invade the shrine and bomb there because they oppose God and justice," Ahmadinejad said, referring to the U.S.-led multinational forces in Iraq.

"These passive activities are the acts of a group of defeated Zionists and occupiers who intended to hit our emotions," he said in a speech that was broadcast on state television. Addressing the United States, he added: "You have to know that such an act will not save you from the anger of Muslim nations."

The bombing set off a string of sectarian attacks in Iraq. Angry crowds thronged the streets, militiamen attacked Sunni mosques and at least 19 people were killed.

FBI Raids Middle Eastern Owned Convenience Stores and Service Stations

TV 8 News has learned FBI agents and local law enforcement authorities are conducting a raid of service stations and businesses owned by Middle Easterners in Northeast Louisiana. Agents executed search warrants today at 10 businesses in Tallulah, Delhi, Monroe and Ruston. The FBI says the raids are part of "an ongoing criminal investigation." Police sources tell TV 8 News the raids target possible money laundering and counterfeiting in connection with suspected domestic terrorist activity. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is said to be taking part in the investigation. TV 8 News will have details at 5, 6,and 10.

Local domestic terrorism, and surprise the targets of the investigation are Arab owned convienance stores and gas stations. Wonder what Ahkmed at the local 7/11 is thinking now. I know every time I come in he is on his cell phone speaking in some foriegn language and he gets all quiet untill I make my purchase and leave.

In one email the person writes, “We kill you and burn your shop. I am Muslim with forces in the U.S.A.”

Another email claims to be from the terrorist group Al Qaeda. It reads, “You only have 5 days and your company will disappear. I promise!” The email is signed, Saalem Al Qahtani, Al Qaeda.

One of the more disturbing messages simply says, “In two days we kill your family."

Iran would become top supplier of oil to China under deal

Iran and China have been discussing a major energy deal that would involve the swap of oil for technology.

Western diplomatic sources said the two countries have been examining an agreement that would make Iran the leading oil supplier to China. The sources said the long-term deal was valued at $100 billion.

Over the weekend, Iran and China discussed cooperation in oil, natural gas and petrochemicals. The official Iranian news agency Irna said the conference, held in Kish Island, was attended by officials and experts from both countries.
Gholam-Reza Manouchehri, managing director of Iran's Petropars, said China has been a major developer of Iran's energy reserves and called for the transfer of Chinese technology. Manouchehri also cited China's growing demand for oil.

"We intend to create new opportunities by making optimum use of the facilities of both countries in the mentioned fields," Manouchehri said.

A minister in India’s Uttar Pradesh state government has offered a reward of $11.5 million to anyone who would kill any of the cartoonists who drew the images of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Muhammad Yaqoob Qureshi, minister of state for Haj and Minorities Welfare in the Uttar Pradesh government, told a rally in Meerut, 65 km east of New Delhi, after Friday prayers that he would give “the avenger” 510 million rupees ($11.5 million) and his weight in gold.

“Drawing a cartoon of the Prophet is blasphemous and Muslims will not tolerate this insult,” he said in a speech that was broadcast by Indian television stations. “The money will be paid by the people of Meerut,” said Yaqoob.

“Our protest is against none other than the US that was solely responsible for masterminding a war against the Muslim world,” he said.

“The Indian government should sever all diplomatic ties with the US, and recall its ambassador,” Yaqoob said over phone.

Meanwhile, the state’s Principal Home Secretary Alok Sinha said Saturday: “Mere announcement of this kind does not amount to a crime.”

“Let me clarify that he did not make the announcement in his capacity as a minister.”

“Secondly, the reference is being made to something that has happened outside the geographical boundaries of India. Lastly, he was simply expressing the common feeling of members of his community,” Sinha said.

Nigerian Muslims protesting caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad attacked Christians and burned churches on Saturday, killing at least 15 people in the deadliest confrontation yet in the whirlwind of Muslim anger over the drawings.

It was the first major protest to erupt over the issue in Africa's most populous nation. An Associated Press reporter saw mobs of Muslim protesters swarm through the city center with machetes, sticks and iron rods. One group threw a tire around a man, poured gas on him and set him ablaze...

...Thousands of rioters burned 15 churches in Maiduguri [Nigeria] in a three-hour rampage before troops and police reinforcements restored order, Nigerian police spokesman Haz Iwendi said. Iwendi said security forces arrested dozens of people in the city about 1,000 miles northeast of the capital, Lagos.

Chima Ezeoke, a Christian Maiduguri resident, said protesters attacked and looted shops owned by minority Christians, most of them with origins in the country's south.

"Most of the dead were Christians beaten to death on the streets by the rioters," Ezeoke said. Witnesses said three children and a priest were among those killed...


The bloodshed comes a little more than week after Nigerian MPs burned Danish and Norwegian flags in a ceremony in the parliament premises--and despite the conciliatory Christian Association of Nigeria's condemnation of the cartoons.

The Nigerian sharia council wants the Danish cartoonists executed.

CARACAS, Feb. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez warned on late Friday that he could cut off oil supplies to the United States, if Washington continues to destabilize his government.

"The U.S. government must know that if it crosses the line it won't be getting Venezuelan oil," Chavez said at a meeting of pensioners in Caracas.

"I have to say that I've begun taking steps on the matter, but I won't tell you what they are," he said.

As the only OPEC member in Latin America, Venezuela currently produces about 3.2 million barrels of oil per day, 1.5 million of which go to the United States.

His warning was apparently in response to remarks by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who on Thursday called Chaveza "challenge to democracy" and said Venezuela's close ties with Cuba were "a particular danger in the region."

In response, Chavez called Rice's remarks a "threat," and accused the leaders of the U.S. and Britain of trying to prevent him from being re-elected in the coming December elections.

Chavez won a six-year presidency in 2000. He vowed to win again this time, which would keep him in office till 2013.

The recent world clamor is to CLOSE DOWN GITMO. The reasoning is that people are being treated badly and abused. Thatb the living conditions are less then adequate for humans. The detainees are mistreated and not allowed due justice.

First these detainees are prisoners of a WAR, that their side started. By being a captured prisoner of war changes ones legal status and the rights that are afforded to them. The Geneva convention was a meeting of leading nations that sat down and decided on a civilized manner (an oximoron if you think about it) to conduct warfare and the treatment of P.O.W.'s. The resulting treaty was signed by these nations. The treaty actually only applies to those signatories of this treaty in reguards to warfare against one another. It technically does not apply to other nations who did not sign it. Therefore these other nations, take the middle eastern/muslim nations for example. Do not honor this treaty in warfare nor in the way they treat prisoners period.

This war with Islamofacist has created "prison camps". Or better worded, politicaly sensitive wording, detainee centers. In these centers are those who did not die on the battle field in service to those who are against the United States. I say this because there are no such things as a prison camp for American or Coalition wounded or captured. They are REALLY TORTURED AND ABUSED WITH THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS AND RIGHTS UNDER THE GENEVA CONVENTION.

They are allowed two hours' exercise a day and to choose their three daily meals from a prison menu that includes ice cream, cookies and peanut butter. A fully staffed and equipped military hospital is available to treat any illness or medical condition, and the detainees have been treated for anything from wounds sustained fighting coalition forces in Afghanistan to cancerous tumours. The US government has been heavily criticised by the United Nations and human rights groups for insisting on the right to force-feed the hunger strikers. But medical officials at Guantanamo reject the criticism. "We have a duty to treat these people in a humane fashion and to save their lives, and that is what we are doing."

By living one can at times feel depressed, inferior, overbearing, and lonely.

Living can bring on the following health conditions:
Cancer, diabetites, strokes, STD's, chicken pox, measels, colds , flu's, hang nails, dependancies on breathing. Shin splints do to running. Sore muscles from any form of excersise.

Living can cause anger from person to another over trivial things like jelousy, envy, and fear.

Living leads to old age which is the onset of death.

Living has no positive ending and therefore needs to be regulated and or abolished.

Laws prohibiting personal responsibility do not do enough to prevent the conclusion of death.
By forceing people to wear seatbelts (a personal decision), limiting what they can eat (recent lawsuits against fast food), telling people what causes cancer (hand picked and disputed WHO reports on second hand smoke), playing on the fears of the uninformed populance does not postpone nor does it eliminate the onset of death.

The surgeon General needs to immediately publish statments and warn the world at this critical and final aspect to living.

Then to bash winter sports yet on his own support and select what he thinks are justifiable sports and athletes. (more fuel to the fire that golfers are not athletes, if they were in the least bit they would carry thier own clubs and decide on what club to use and not let someone else decide)

Does Dumbell have any grasp on history. Is his comment that the winter Olympics lack of Black participants disqualify it as an Olympic event. I have not discovered any document that claims the Greek Olympics were an all Black athletic event let alone had a hiole lot of Black participants then either.

With all that is going on in the war that has been declared upon the west by Islamofacists, we need to take a close look at where the front lines are starting to develop. It is not some imaginary line in the desert of some podunk middle eastern rat hole. No it is clear that the front lines are now sitting on our southern boarder.

Oh this is just another bash Mexico piece you claim. No, and yes. Mexico has never been a friend to this couontry. Look at history. We have had to go to war with them in 1848. Mexico was sympathetic to the NAZI's in WWII. Now they are mad at the United States because we do not give them free range into this country.

It is not a matter of human treatment or of a better way of life. It is simple economics. We supply 20% of Mexicos national gross domestic (I use the term Domestic loosly) product. This does not include the billions that are spent in giving free medical and social services to a countries citizens who refuse to pay taxes.

The Department of Homeland Security now admits that there have been 231 documented incursions by Mexican military or police, or drug or people smugglers dressed in military uniforms, during the last ten years, including 63 in Arizona, and several Border Patrol agents have been wounded in these encounters. This admission comes after years of pretending that such incursions were just "accidents."

Homeland Security sent a confidential memo in January to our Border Patrol agents warning that they could be the targets of assassins hired by alien smugglers. The alert states that the contract killers will probably be members of the vicious MS-13 Mara Salvatrucha street gang (whose 17-year-old killers will be protected from capital punishment by a recent U.S Supreme Court decision).

If you don't have access to Texas newspapers or the internet, you may not have heard the sensational news about the enormous cache of weapons just seized in Laredo, Texas. U.S. authorities grabbed two completed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), materials for making 33 more, military-style grenades, 26 grenade triggers, large quantities of AK-47 and AR-15 assault rifles, 1,280 rounds of ammunition, silencers, machine gun assembly kits, 300 primers, bullet-proof vests, police scanners, sniper scopes, narcotics, and cash.

Rep. Tom Tancredo reported that sheriff deputies spotted a military-style Humvee near El Paso, Texas, with a mounted .50-caliber machine gun escorting a caravan of SUVs bringing illegal drugs into our country. Our outgunned and outmanned sheriff deputies and state highway patrol couldn't do anything except take pictures.

The Mexican government is unwilling or incapable of doing anything to stop the wide-open lawlessness on the Mexican side of the border. Our Border Patrol agents say they are often confronted by corrupt Mexican military units employed to protect and escort violent drug smugglers.

Meanwhile, the news media have shown us pictures of the just-discovered sophisticated 2,400-foot tunnel running under our border to a warehouse in San Diego. U.S. authorities recovered more than two tons of marijuana, and it is unclear how long the tunnel has been in operation or how many tons of drugs already passed through.

Does this sound like a peaceful boarder? Not in the least.

Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) says that if you visit the border, you will find that almost everyone who lives there is armed for protection from illegals. Just imagine if you had to carry a gun to go to the grocery store or take your kids to school!

Professor Samuel P. Huntington, chairman of Harvard University's Academy for International and Area Studies, warned in 2004: "Demographically, socially, and culturally, the reconquista (re-conquest) of the Southwest United States by Mexican immigrants is well underway.... No other immigrant group in U.S. history has asserted or could assert a historical claim to U.S. territory. Mexicans and Mexican Americans can and do make that claim." Huntington also said that "Mexican immigration differs from past immigration and most other contemporary immigration due to a combination of six factors: contiguity, scale, illegality, regional concentration [in the American Southwest], persistence, and historical presence."

In May, 2005, the BBC reported: "The Latinization of California is nothing short of a revolution. California will become a predominantly Spanish-speaking state within the next few years. And, as the majority population, there is really no need, or incentive, for them to assimilate into mainstream American society as their predecessors have always done. Whether Latinos then decide to push for greater autonomy or to seek a political agenda of their own with closer ties to Mexico and Central America is very much up for grabs." In 2001, the pro-immigration New California Media reported that Mexico "continues to mourn the loss of half of its territory to the U.S. in the 19th Century."

Mexico is pushing hard for amnesty and various benefits for millions of illegal Mexican migrants. Once naturalized, amnestied migrants could add tens of millions of people and future voters to the U.S. through births here and through immigration of extended families. U.S.-born children, even of illegal immigrants and guest workers, are American citizens and could vote at 18. Furthermore, in 2001 Ernesto Ruffo Appel, then-border czar of Mexico, reportedly advised Mexican migrants: "If the border patrol agent finds you, try again." In 2004, the Mexican government published a guide with safety tips for Mexicans who want to illegally cross the U.S. border.

The push is not only coming from Mexico but again as I preach connect the dots we are looking at a contingent of 11 countries from central and south America who are sending a delegation to Washington to try and apply political pressure on congress. The goal is continueing allowance of ILLEGALS into this nation. A free pass and a continued supply of under the table nontaxed monies to shore up poorly run governments that are full of corruption and under influences from hostile entities to America.

This so called human rights delegation to Washington includes Venzuala, Bolivia, Nicauga, and other left leaning countries who are currently in meetings with IRAN, CUBA, and North Korea.

Not only are they in meetings with these hostile and OPPRESSIVE GOVERNMENTS, but are recieving some sort of aid from them. SO tell me are we to believe that this delegation has United States well being in thier minds?

What is offensive? All over the news is the talk of cartoons, pictures of Muhammad in supposedly unflattering depictions. Yet published is pictures of Jewish and Christian objects of faith in unflattering displays.

Names are called ... RAGHEAD, KIKE, MICK, SPIC, COON, CRACKER, and more derogatory terms. Pages of he said she said. All of which are not very "sensitive" to the "ethnic" reader.

Hate crime legislation is inacted to make an assault or murder more punishable by law, but does it make the crime more violent?

Is not name calling name calling?

Is not a punch to the face the same as a punch to the face?

If someone wheres an amulate of leather depicting Africa the same as someone who wears a t-shirt that is pro - Atzlan? Do they not both represent an idea of racial pride and background? (EVEN IF ONE IS OF A MYTHICAL PLACE)

Is a video of a murder not as disgusting as someone expressing thier opinion on how the middle east governments/religion oppresses people?

To me what is offensive is this so called self censorship in the name of not wanting to offend the Islamofacists by telling the truth and noteing their atrocities. Yet on every turn publishing stories that are not checked for reliablke facts as long as it has an anti western view. That is offensive.

For those who want to continue to live under a rock and pretend that nothing is happening. Well go right ahead and hide. There is little doubt left after the so called inflammed riots over simple cartoons. This is being used as an excuse to insight hatred and religiouse persecussion of any who are not an Islamofacist.

What, too strong of a word to describe muslims today. I do not think so at all. For those who are the socalled leaders and followers of this OPPRESSIVE religion are not even following what the pretend to preach. Thats a religion of peace. Ahmadinejad: Israel 'will be removed'

Tehran (dpa) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that the Palestinians and "other nations" will eventually remove Israel from the region.

"We ask the West to remove what they created sixty years ago and if they do not listen to our recommendations, then the Palestinian nation and other nations will eventually do this for them," Ahmadinejad said in a ceremony marking the 27th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

"Do the removal of Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations," the ultra-conservative president said. He once again called the Holocaust a "fairy tale" and said Europeans have become hostages of "Zionists" in Israel.

He also accused Europeans for not allowing "neutral scholars" to investigate in Europe and make a scientific report on "the truth about the fairy tale of Holocaust."

"How comes that insulting the prophet of Muslims worldwide is justified within the framework of press freedom, but investigating about the fairy tale Holocaust is not?" Ahmadinejad said.

"The real Holocaust is what is happening in Palestine where the Zionists avail themselves of the fairy tale of Holocaust as blackmail and justification for killing children and women and making innocent people homeless," Ahmadinejad said.

According to state media, hundreds of thousands of people came into the streets to show their solidarity with the government over pursuing the country's nuclear programmes and voice their protest against publication of cartoons deemed insulting to the Prophet Mohammed.

Not surprisingly, our old friends of al-Muhajiroun, the British-based Muslim group that held pro-Osama and pro-9/11 rallies and held seminars with titles like "The Obligation of Inciting Religious Hatred," is stoking cartoon rage in Britain. From The Guardian, with thanks to John:

When worldwide Muslim fury over cartoons of the Prophet spread to Britain, the flag-burning protests outside the Danish embassy in London appeared to be an entirely spontaneous outpouring of anger.
Inquiries by the Guardian have shown, however, that a key role in organising the demonstration was played by an Islamist sect whose supporters have repeatedly been linked to violence and terrorism.

Al-Ghurabaa, the organisation which takes credit for the protest, is essentially the same organisation as al-Muhajiroun, a sect which claims to have disbanded more than a year ago and whose founder, Omar Bakri Mohammed, was excluded from the UK last summer, shortly after he fled to Beirut.

They are uniquely British organisations which share the same leadership and same incendiary rhetoric. Their websites appear to be registered to the same house in north London. They hold an identical allure for a small but bitterly disaffected group of young British Muslims. And their members say they owe allegiance to the same "spiritual leader": Bakri. The organisation may be banned, under both its guises, after the terrorism bill reaches its final stage in the Commons on Wednesday. Already, however, there is evidence that supporters of al-Ghurabaa - which means the strangers - are reorganising themselves under several new names, such as al-Firqat un-Naajiyah and Ahl al Sunnah Wal Jamaa'ah: the Saved Sect, and the Messenger and his Companions.

Asked yesterday what the group would do if banned, Anjem Choudary, Bakri's right-hand man, said: "It may push a lot of people underground, and that is something the government should be concerned about."

Al-Ghurabaa, like al-Muhajiroun, makes no secret of its adoration of Osama bin Laden, and both are openly homophobic. Its website also espouses the murder of any who insult the Prophet.

In the wake of the Danish embassy demonstrations, al-Ghurabaa's website was offering a series of articles and essays, some harmless, others bizarre, and a few which will be seen as offensive....

Another, headlined the Lion Roars Again, hails Osama bin Laden as a man of "honour and dignity", whose roar causes the US to "shiver with fear and panic".

An essay about the cartoons was entitled Kill Those Who Insult Muhammad. Others were entitled There is No Room for Homosexuality in Islam,


Iran tells Muslims to target U.S., not Denmark, over cartoons

Tehran, Iran, Feb. 10 – A senior Iranian cleric called on Muslims on Friday to direct their fury over cartoons of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad at the United States, rather than Denmark.
When crowds of worshippers in Tehran chanted “Death to Denmark” during his fiery sermon, Tehran Friday prayers leader Ahmad Khatami told them, “We shouldn’t say ‘Death to Denmark’. Denmark is nothing! We must say, ‘Death to America’. It’s the Americans who set up the likes of the Danes”.

Khatami, who is not related to Iran’s former president, accused the European Union of “double standards” in its approach to the publication of cartoons of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad and Iran’s denial of the Holocaust.

“They talk about human rights and freedom of expression, but at the same time they disgustingly insult more than a billion Muslims”, the ayatollah told worshippers in central Tehran.

“They justify this great crime on the grounds of freedom of expression and the stupid Prime Minister of Denmark says that they are willing to pay the price of freedom. But these very countries who claim to respect freedom of expression do not allow the smallest talk about the myths of Holocaust and persecution of the Jews”, he said.


This is beyond ridiculous. Holocaust denial is genocidally-tinged, politically motivated fantasy. There is just no comparison, especially since criticism of Israel and America fill European papers all the time.

“The United States and European states are taking advantage of human rights, freedom of speech, disarmament, and the International [Atomic Energy] Agency. All of these are being misused. They want to force their rule upon the world through these methods”, the senior cleric said.
Turning to the situation in Iraq, Khatami said that the U.S. had spent a lot in the country “but they got the opposite result. The Iraqi people entered the scene and voted for Islam”.

He said that the victory of the radical Islamist group Hamas in the Palestinian elections was the “most effective blow” to U.S. prestige.

As I sit here in front of my computer this morning. I go through my normal routine. I am on my fourth cup of coffee ( I like to mix cocoa in it and get that extra rush of caffine), also I am on my third cigarette. Hey I am over 21 and have been up for 2 hours now.

I have a cough this morning but its due to sleeping in front of an open window, it snowed last night and is only 10 f. this morning. My nose is a little runny but again I am fighting off a cold.

This is my morning routine, a little later i will head to the gym and lift for an hour followed by 15 minutes in the steam room. Off to work after that. My morning routine. Why .... am an adult and enjoy my two vices. Coffee and Cigaretts. I am conciense of my smoking, I do not smoke in someone elses vehical unless they do not mind. I do not light up in the office. I have accepted the fact of being treated like a second ... NO, a third class citizen and smoke outside in the rain and snow and foul weather as the occasional sunny nice day. I go down six floors and then outside to do this. Why ... I am an adult and it is my decision to do so. There is no one who has twisted my arm, or is holding a gun to my head.

What does this have to do with House Bill 1175, well I shall tell you. House Bill 1175 is big brother thinking they know best for the average person. It will ban smoking in Bars, Pool Halls, V.F.W.'s, basically everywhere outside of ones private home ... and that in some states is a no no if you have children .. by law a no no.

This is a complete form of OPPRESION by a small group of better then thou, self rightouse know it alls. These people are dead set in forceing everyone to do as they say. Forceing a standard of their making on society.

They want to be able to go anywhere and not smell smoke. Well to these people I say grow up. The world isn't fair , however we are in America, or before political correctness became the norm. If you do not like the smoke then DO NOT GO INTO AN ESTABLISHMENT THAT ALLOWS SMOKING. DO NOT WALK UP TO SOME ONE SMOKING AND BREATH IN THE SECOND HAND SMOIKE THEN YOU MORONS.

House Bill 1175 is not only oppresive but it will hurt buisnesses. By banning an activity that is LEGAL, and according to the latest WHO (world health organization) reports is not as bad as you are being told by the adgenda driven media. If you do not like the smoke there are establishments who legally do not allow smoking. There are options for non smokers. But house bill 1175 will take away the options for nonsmokers.

Opening my e-mail this evening I recieved a very personal one that to me touches very close to home and my views. This e-mail came from a very close and dear friend. Here is the meat of the e-mail>

I dont have a problem with this.. I appreciate it. My family is sincerely from everywhere but we became Americans and speak English.. not German, Filipino/Spanish/Brazilian. My grandfather was very adamant about it.(I could have, There is nothing wrong with knowing it.. dont read into anything). And what they came through to make it so, well I am grateful. . There are great reasons why we are not speaking: French or Spanish .. like right now, and it has alot to do with the freedoms we bear today. Our identity that represents "American" which I believe in.

WOW .... powerful words of welcome. I have blogged many times on the topic of immigration or should I say lack of immigration but invasion to this country. I do not deny anyone from coming here to better themselves or their family. What I do deny and am upset with is those who come here fleeing oppression and poverty. Seeking political refuge, yet once here doing all they can to change America into that in which they have fled.

Lowering educational standards, forceing the rule of minority onto the majority. The blatant rewriting of American History into some falsehood of American oppression which never ever existed.

My heritage is a mix. German, Deutch, English, Welsch, Cherekee, and Irish. Do I celebrate my heritage ..... hell yeah. Oktoberfest, St. Patricks day,the Trail Of Tears. I hold all this important to me. I speak a little German, love a good Irish ballad, and still respect the Queen. Do I place any of this above being born an American. NO!!!!

I am but one of many who can trace family roots to major historical events in this great country. The feud between the Hatfields and McCoys, part of family history. The boomers in Oklahoma .... my relatives were there. One relative of mine founded a collage ... Randolph Macon Collage in Virginia. While looking at family history a will was discovered where one relative left his only sole possesions .... several slaves.

My family fought on the Union and on the Confederate sides of the Civil War, the Mexican war, the Spanish war, WWI, WWII, Korea, I seved in the Persian Gulf proudly during Desert Shield and Storm in 91. Along side me and in each confrontation served Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Native Americans ... known as Indians. Did they serve as individuals ..... NO! They went to each action as Americans. What not in the Civil war you say .... well time to get ride of the rewrite on history people. Little known fact here , yes there were Blacks who did fight on the side of the south and not by force either. Go check it out, learn something.

Immigrants came here from all over the world because they wanted to be American. Not like today where a free ride is expected. Italians worked hard on the streets in New York, the Irish built westword on the railroad, as the Chinese built eastword.
Was life tough for them .... ever here of the phrase "not a chinamans chance in hell". A phrase that came from the way the Chinese did the blasting through the mountains to build the railroad. Not a very safe job or a long lasting one.

Hispanics fought valiantly in the independance of Texas. We here of Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and ice water in the viens of Col. Travis defending the Alamo, but look at the Hispanics that fought along side bravely to become AMERICAN. Sam Houston himself had hispanics in his Texas army. Look at the proud tradition of the texas Rangers and those that were hispanic and Black. All proud to be American and Texan.

The pride that the Navahoe talkers had during WWII. Did they fight as Navahoes .... they fought as Marines. Which means if you sit down and ask them American.

One of the proudest days in my life was to see the look on my ex-wifes face and the pride she carried when she became an American Citizen. She studied night and day, cried at times because at first she didnt understand the Bill of Rights. A concept that was foriegn to her at first. But when she took the oath of aledgence I was teary eyed as was she.

I was offended but not as much as she was when several there took the oath in foriegn languages. She worked hard on her command of the english language and was offended by those who did not. She felt that they cheated.

This is a common feeling among many immigrants who wait years to take this oath. The come here to be Americans not someone who just lives here. I had an instructor who is French ... needless to say some hot discusions there on ideology. However we were in total agreement on the way certain groups are dividing this country into small ethnic groups who want to be and live like they did before they came here.

I have ranted enough .... to sum it up. On a plaque it says "Give us your tired, give us your week, your huddled masses .." I say welcome to all who want to be American, to those that don't .... THERE'S THE DOOR USE IT!!!

Ramadi, Iraq, February 5: Militant groups on Sunday called for attacks on Danish troops in Iraq and people from all countries where cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad have been published.

In an Internet statement, the Islamic Army of Iraq, which has claimed responsibility for killing foreign hostages, urged militants to kidnap Danes and "cut them into as many pieces as the number of newspapers that printed the cartoons".

"The Islamic Army in Iraq also declares that all countries whose newspapers printed the insulting and disgraceful pictures are legitimate targets and our response will be ... tremendous."

"We call on all fighters in the resistance to reactivate their military activities and the first target of the upcoming attacks should be Danish troops," said the leaflets, handed out among about 1,000 protesters. Denmark has more than 500 troops in Iraq.

"All people from religions other than Islam must stop their religious rituals in churches and other places of worship because of their assault on Islam and Muslims," it added.

"We demand that all clerics in Arab countries issue fatwas(religious edicts) against foreigners and to shut all embassies."

The Islamic Army in Iraq said: "We also call for targeting companies that deals with these countries and any store that sells Danish and Norwegian products." The statement was published on a Web site often used by Iraqi militant groups.

Australians have received their orders:


A senior Islamic cleric has called on Australia’s media not to publish the cartoons which have sparked riots across the Muslim world.

Sheik Fehmi El-Imam, the general secretary of the Board of Imams of Victoria, warned reprinting the cartoons here could “disturb people who can do things that we don’t want them to do”.


Oh, I doubt it. Cartoons mocking various religions have been previously published in Australia thousands of times, and nobody went nuts. Why would things be different now?


"In some parts of the world there is rioting against the Danish and the Dutch, we don’t want that in Australia,” the sheik said today.

No, we don’t. So behave yourselves.


"Unfortunately, New Zealand has (published the cartoons) ... I’m trying to avoid, to put far away, any possibility of disturbing the peace in Australia."

Odd that this concern over maintaining the peace doesn’t limit Muslim commentary on other religions or communities. The Islamic Bookstore in Lakemba, for example, sells vicious anti-Semitic tract The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as well as various anti-Christian titles (Crucifixion – or Cruci-FICTION?). Sheik Khalid Yasin, a regular guest lecturer in Australia, declared that “there’s no such thing as a Muslim having a non-Muslim friend” and denounced modern clothes as the work of “faggots, homosexuals and lesbians”; Christians, he said, deliberately infected Africans with AIDS. Yasin wouldn’t merely draw cartoons of homosexuals—he’d have them put to death in accordance with Koranic law. One Imam told Australian students that Jews put poison in bananas. Local Iraqis voting in their country’s elections were shot at and otherwise intimidated by Islamic extremists whose banners announced: “You vote, you die.” These friends of free speech were also observed photographing those who dared to vote. Sheikh Feiz Muhammad told a supportive Bankstown crowd last year that women deserve to be raped if they wore “satanical” garments, including anything “strapless, backless, [or] sleeveless”, and also “mini-skirts [and] tight jeans.”

All of this is far more hateful and moronic than those twelve Danish cartoons, not one of which depicts the Prophet eating babies, poisoning fruit, or infecting Africans with AIDS. Far from being against hate-speech, many Muslim spokesmen seem to be aggressively for it; until, of course, someone contemplates publishing harmless drawings of an old beardy guy. At that point Sheik Fehmi El-Imam warns that we risk “disturbing the peace”.

I wonder how the Mexican government would like it and the people of Mexico would appreciate a park in the middle of Mexico city depicting American Hero's. Not manufactured events but real hero's. Like those of lets say the Alamo and the independance of Texas from Mexican tryanny.

A large park in the shape of Texas with plaques depicting the Courage of the Texas Rangers. A huge 20 foot statue of President Sam Houston and his decisive victory over Santa Anna at the battle of San Juancinto.

They would be outraged I am thinking. That we would dare to put American hero's in thier country. Davy Crockett and his Coon skin cap, holding his muskett defending the invading army from Mexico at the Alamo. Or better yet the Marines that crushed Mexican soldiers in the halls of Montezuma, loud speakers playing the Marine Corps Hymn 24/7. Yeah baby,that needs to be done anyways .... SEMPER FI.

Well there is no outrage but it is happening only from the Mexican perspective in Dallas. A park commited to national hero's of Mexico is being built and praised. Distorted facts of the treaty of Hildago are being put forth and an antiAmerican promexican fever is riseing.

The Mexicanization of the Southwestern United States has taken another step forward with the announcement of “La Rotonda de los Mexicanos Ilustres” - a rotunda featuring the “Heroes of Mexico” in a Dallas city park.

Under a plan being coordinated by the city of Dallas along with community leaders and the Mexican Consul-general, Dallas’ Winnetka Park will soon be a place where Mexicans can come to pay tribute to statues and busts of past Mexican presidents, poets and other historical figures.

A statue of President Juarez already stands in Winnetka Park and it might soon be joined by at least seven other statues of Mexican historical figures.

The Consul, Carlos Garcia De Alba, was quoted in the Spanish newspaper “Al Dia” as saying, “It will be a rotunda dedicated to the heroes of Mexico.” He also said that this could be the first of its kind in the United States.

But certainly not the last, and certainly not the last in Texas - the state where more illegal immigrants sneak across the border than any other. Victor Davis Hanson wrote a book called “Mexifornia,” but California is no worse off than Texas when it comes to degradation of the culture. In “se habla Espanol” signs hanging from store windows and Spanish-speaking radio and television, Texas takes a back seat to no other state.

Winnetka Park should be a wake-up call. President Bush can blather on all he wants to about matching willing workers with willing employers - but none of that will make much difference if the Southwestern region of the United States becomes so Mexicanized that it seeks a rejoining with Mexico - known to those who support it as “the Reconquista.”

This idea is not some far-fetched conspiracy theory; it is real. With President Bush and other political leaders ignoring the cultural costs of millions of illegal aliens, the advocates of the Reconquista already have their invaders in place. There’s no need to fire any shots. Just put Mexican Consuls all over the region to meddle in the affairs of the United States -- such as pushing ideas like the Rotunda of Mexican Heroes.

At this rate, Santa Ana will soon be a hero in Texas and Sam Houston will be a villain. The history of the Alamo will be reinterpreted. The heroes of Texas - Houston, Austin, Travis, Bowie, Crockett, Bonham and the rest - will begin to fade away from our parks and museums.

Winnetka Park in Dallas is about to honor the likenesses of poet Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, independence figures Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon, Vicente Guerrero and Ignacio Zaragoza, and revolutionary Emiliano Zapata. The Dallas Councilman from the district, Steve Salazar, and the city’s Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Elba Garcia both support the project. They’re now turning their attention to obtaining funding.

Someday, in Winnetka Park, there may be a statue of President Vicente Fox. It’s not very likely that there will ever be one of George W. Bush.

More evidance to those who can connect the dots. This evidance is out with the vote of the 35 nations on the United Nations Atomic Energy Board. A vote of 27 to 3 with 5 countries abstaining.

Lets look at the countries that voted against refering Iran to the Securitry Council. These countries are with little surprise Cuba, Venzuala, and Syria. Take a close look at two of the three Cuba and Venzuala. These two countries , both of which are oppressed by some seriouse left wing governments that surpress and deny freedoms in their country. Also having a very anti American bias.

Chavez in Venzuala has just recently visited Iran and proposed several interesting trade dealings. Proclaiming Iran as its good friend in the middle east. Cuba who supports (Castro and his cronies) Chavez, and his government with their antics of locking up the oppositions party members and the redistribution of goods and wealth wholesale in this back water country. Propaganda , and bold face lies from Chavez , Castro and their lacky in Bolivia are causeing a back wash of hatred to the U.S.A.

Lets not forget the meeting of Latin American Countries lead by Mexico in the false allegations of boarder atrocities to thier citizens , who ARE ILLEGALLY ENTERING this country. Calling the secureing of Americas southern boarder an act against humanity. (TOTAL HOGWASH BUT THE LEFTISTS EAT IT UP)

To sum it all up short and sweet .... Mexican troops crossing the boarder on a weekly basis. Protecting drug runners, and helping ILLEGALS AND HOSTILES enter America. A friendship between leftists Venzuala , Cuba, Bolivia, and Mexico. A partnership between Iran and Venzuala, not just in oil production but in thier hatred of America.

On the Drudge report there is a link to the Guardian in which an articale talks about the U.S. media looseing thier leadership role. This articale I have read several times and still do not figure out whatr they are talking about. In the breakdown of how the U.S. media is looseing creditablity they site a pro war perspective. I just do not swallow this idea at all.

A pro war perspective by the MSM in America? Amazing how they can draw this conclusion. They also give koodo's to Al Jazeera and its coverage of "murdered innocents". tghis too I find very hard to believe as many of Al's reports are of fabricated events from a spun pro Isamofacist point.

US media at 'all-time low'

Arabic-language media have an unprecedented chance to take over as the world's premier news source because trust in their US counterparts plummeted following their "shameful coverage" of the war in Iraq, a conference heard today.
The US media reached an "all-time low" in failing to reflect public opinion and Americans' desire for trusted information, instead acting as a "cheerleader" for war, said Amy Goodman, the executive producer and host of US TV and radio news show Democracy Now!, at a news forum organised by al-Jazeera.


A failing to show American opinion? Seems that all the polls I see and people I talk to are in favor of what we are doing. Maybe not happy with results at present but supportive of democracy.

They continue:

"The US media have done a shameful job of reporting on the Arab world. With the rise of al-Jazeera and independent media there is a chance for the Arab media to react back, but instead what we get is a clash," said Ethan Zuckerman, the co-founder of Global Voices Online and research fellow at the Berkman Centre for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School.

"I would urge everyone involved with new Arabic media not just to report on this [Arabic] world more fairly and accurately, but to report on the whole world more fairly and accurately. I challenge al-Jazeera and the new Arabic media players to do a better job that the US in covering the rest of the world," he said.

Ms Goodman said in the run-up to the Iraq war a study of NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS newscasts over a fortnight recorded 393 interviews on the conflict, of which only three reported the anti-war movement.

"This is a media cheerleading for war and does not represent mainstream opinion in the US," she added.

Ms Goodman said she believed the policy of embedding reporters with coalition forces was "a total failure for independent journalism ... western audiences need to see the other side of the story - from communities and hospitals".
